The majestic Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle - also known as Honu in the Hawaiian language - is the largest hard-shelled sea turtle in the world, reaching a length of up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) and weighing an average of 400 pounds (181 kg).

Green Sea Turtles are easy to spot in shallow coastal waters near Hawaii due to their distinctive shells, which feature a smooth edge and a rounded beak. As juveniles, these turtles have a carnivorous diet; however, as they reach maturity their diet shifts towards more vegetarian fare such as seaweed and sea grasses.
