We are back from a maintenance visit to Sunsets in Paradise. It was surreal to pass through Lahaina. The devastation is heartbreaking. While the west side of Maui’s reopening is October 8th, we, at Sunsets in Paradise, are accepting reservations the beginning of November. We are waiting the extra time, to give the restaurants, shops, and attractions time to reestablish themselves. We would love the opportunity to host you, as soon as you are ready to visit.

Aloha all. Currently, Sunsets in Paradise is just fine. The fires are over 5 miles away. We are not under an evacuation order. We are to shelter in place. Unfortunately, I can not say the same for Lahaina town. Most reports state the entire town from bypass to the water, from the Cannery Mall to Puamana are fiery rubble. This includes Pioneer Inn, the smoke stack of the old Cannery, Front St, and the Banyan tree. Major fires are occurring in Kula and Kihei, as well. Please consider donating to the Red Cross. Many residents are now homeless

The following Maui Bus Fixed Route services will be suspended until further notice: Lahaina Islander Route #20, Lahaina Villager Route #23, Kaanapali Islander Route #25, and West Maui Islander Route #28. Bus riders are encouraged to check the Maui Bus app for updates.

Maui Bus ADA Paratransit Service and MEO Human Service Transportation trips to/from and within the West Maui area are suspended until further notice.

All Maui Bus Commuter Services will be suspended until further notice.

All other bus services are planned to run as scheduled, but may experience delays due to roadway conditions impacted by brush fires.
