There are so many articles telling us about what was destroyed in the Lahaina fires. Let’s mention what was spared!
Among the places that survived the fires incude:
1.The Banyan Tree on Front Street
2. Lahaina Shores Beach Resort on Front Street, it appears so far to have almost no damage.
3. The “miracle house” a couple plots down from Lahaina shores Beach Resort
4. The Old Fort in Lahaina
5. The 165-year-old Catholic Maria Lanakila Church (Our Lady of Victory) in downtown Lahaina and its rectory emerged so intact that the flowers lovingly placed at the altar the day before the fire were discovered there still in full bloom.
6. The Lahaina Baptist Church was untouched.
7. The Villages of Leiali’i is the only community in West Maui exclusively for Hawaiians.
8. The giant copper Buddha at the Jodo Mission, which serves as a gathering space in Lahaina for Buddhists and also the broader West Maui community, also survived the flames - along with a prized golden wooden sculpture.
9. The bronze casting called 'the Spirit of Aloha' from an art shop
10. The Waiola churchyard, home of the royal tomb that served as the launching pad for Hawaiian Christianity two centuries ago, made it through almost unscathed, its lawn still green, while a Hawaii state flag remarkably continued to ripple overhead.
11.Two churches in Lahaina that house wards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints —one whose members speak Tongan and one that is English-speaking — both remain standing with no major indications of damage.
12. Sugar cane Express Train- pretty well intact and say they will reopen on their website
13. The Old Lahaina Courthouse, Baldwin House and Seamen’s Hospital appear to be able to be restored
14. The Lahaina Lighthouse, a beacon of light for hundreds of years, seems to have been spared from the fires of Lahaina.King Kamehameha III established the Lahaina lighthouse, as the first lighthouse in Hawaii, in 1840. A second and then a third lighthouse were established in 1866 and in 1905.
15. Cannery Mall
16. Mala’s Tavern, Duckine, across the street from Mala’s on Front Street both say they are reopening. Honu’s survived as well
17. the Lahaina Roads Condominium at 1403 Front Street, just North of Cannery Mall and Mala, survived with virtually no fire damage

19. Butterfly Farm & Farmers Market
20. The old Frida's
21. Star Noodle
22. The Old Lahaina Luau
23. Walgreens
24. Starbucks
25. Burger King
26. Panda Express
27. Island Grocery
28. Ohana Fuel & Minute Stop,

32. Juan's Auto Repair (previously Tire Warehouse)
33. Most of Emerald Plaza
34. Tamura's Fine Wine
35. Shell Gas Station & Car Wash
36. Moana Glass
37. Calvary Church
38. The Adventure Park
39. Mala wharf
40. Olowalu General Store
41. Butterfly Farm and Farmers Market
42. The Safeway and Longs Drugs in the Cannery Mall!
