Today marks the one-year anniversary of the devastating Maui wildfires, and we pause to honor the memory of those we lost, celebrate the strength of our survivors, and reaffirm our commitment to rebuilding.

While the scars remain, the spirit of aloha shines brighter than ever. We invite you to join us in remembering and supporting our Maui ‘ohana.

Today marks one month since the Maui wildfires and while our hearts ache as we reflect on the tremendous loss and devastation in Lahaina and Kula, they swell with pride when we think about the power of this community, the outpouring of love we’ve seen from around the world, and the magic of this beautiful island we call home.

We are committed to supporting Maui’s recovery. Over the past month, we’ve found housing for our displaced colleagues and jobs for those who want to work. We’re donating a portion of each new reservation to the Peoples Fund of Maui. And thanks to the generosity of our ‘ohana, owners, guests, and friends, we’ve raised over $800K in donations that will go directly to colleagues who were impacted by the fires. This is just the beginning, and we’re in it for the long run.

We hold Maui in our hearts and know that you do as well. Mahalo.

Sharing gratitude to all of our remarkable team members who've stepped up during this devastating time to support friends, loved ones and guests in the Maui community. They are showing up to lend a hand wherever needed, load and unload cargo, drive relief supplies to Lāhainā and more. The best way you can help is by donating miles or supporting one of our nonprofit partners to ensure relief is making it to where it's needed most.

The last couple of weeks have been heavy for everyone who loves Maui. One of the best ways to support our community is to help us rebuild. We welcome guests who bring their aloha spirit. Please be respectful and stay out of Lahaina, but enjoy the beauty and wonder that Maui have to offer.

Amidst the tragedy of the past 10 days, we are finding glimmers of hope and good news.

As of Wednesday, our staff have all been accounted for and are safe. We have been focused on making sure employees displaced by the fires have their basic needs of shelter and essentials met.

The response and support from the community and the world at large is inspiring, with hundreds of volunteers and an overwhelming amount of donations.

Please continue to be patient as this situation is evolving daily. Hold Maui in your hearts and we hope to welcome you soon!

Mahalo for the outpouring of love and support this past week. We are still processing this trauma, working to assess the damage, and supporting our colleagues and community, especially those who have lost everything.

We have so many people asking how they can help right now. Due to the generosity of people around the world, Maui has enough essential supplies. Monetary donations are the most impactful at the moment.

We recommend the following organizations:

Lahaina, Pulehu and Upcountry Maui Fires Combined Update No. 7, 3:50 p.m.: Due to limited resources in this time of crisis, visitors with vehicles or any means of transportation are being asked to leave Lahaina and Maui as soon as possible.

A mass bus evacuation for visitors will be staged at Sheraton Maui Resort in Kaʻanapali this afternoon and take visitors directly to Kahului Airport. Five County of Maui buses, each with a capacity of 49 people, and five Polynesian Adventure Tours buses, each with a capacity of 50, will provide the transportation, with the first wave of buses expected to arrive at the Sheraton at about 4 p.m. today.

Personal vehicles can go to the airport through Kahahuloa. Rental vehicles may be left on site.

On Wedneday afternoon, the Transportation Security Administration was reporting that seats are available on outgoing flights at Kahului Airport. Travelers need to call airlines to make reservations.

Motorists may not enter Lahaina during the active fire, but people already in Lahaina may exit via Kahakuloa. Maui police are stationed at Ma’alaea and at Waihee to prevent entry into Lahaina until the area is secure. Only Kahakuloa residents may access Kahakuloa via Waihee.

West Maui remains without power and has no landline or cellphone service.

Firefighting crews are continuing to battle a fire that burned multiple structures and brush in Lahaina, as well as fires in the Pulehu/Kīhei and Upcountry areas.

There have been no changes in containment for the Lahaina, Pulehu and Upcountry fires.

We will share updates when we have them. Mahalo for your support and understanding.
