Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom will be closed for at least a year and newly filed permits may indicate an opening date…and it’s a long way off 🚂

Starting January 6, 2025, the popular attraction will close for refurbishment. The newly filed permit for construction work expires March 13, 2026, which means Thunder Mountain may not reopen for at least 14 months after it closes. 🚧

As of this time, it isn’t known what changes and work will be done. 💥

As always, refurbishment dates are subject to change and a clear-cut reopening date is not yet known.
