Camping tip!
When you don’t have a mallet or hatchet to drive your stakes… use a flat faced rock. Watch your fingers! When you feel any resistance in the soil remove the stake and try another angle or another spot. It’s not worth bending your stakes over.
If I am backpacking into a place I know has plenty of rocks I don’t bother packing a hammer and the extra weight. A rock always works.

Have you ever wanted to hike or climb to the top of a mountain? How about one of the popular Colorado 14ers? Now is the time! Let me help. I am going to climb one before late October. You are welcome to join. Hit me up if interested! The natural high, the accomplished and invincible feeling last for months! Overflowing into other aspects of life. It is a very positive and addicting experience.

**A 14er is a mountain that is at least 14,000 feet or 4,267 meters. Colorado has more of them than any other state. More than 53. They vary in difficulty. Some requiring a long mild hike, while others demand steep scrambling or a bit of rock climbing. I have 4 under my belt. Hoping to summit my 5th and maybe even my 6th before fall.

My Father’s Day gift was spending quality time with my three kids climbing limestone walls and cooling off in the Cumberland River. Connecting with Tennessee and Mother Earth in ways average tourists don’t.

Many thanks to Southeastern Climbers Coalition for a wonderful place for EVERYONE to climb! I can’t wait to donate my time and money for such a good cause.

What makes me qualified to be your guide?
My extensive experience backpacking, camping, and mountain climbing in every major national park in the U.S., even some in New Zealand and Costa Rica.
I am CPR certified and a state licensed emergency medical responder. Also I am an industrial rope rescue team member. I continually train Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for self defense. I grew up in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Being a plant and wildlife enthusiast, I have studied and admired them for years and I look forward to sharing that with you.
