Today, we remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and honor the lives lost on that fateful day.

Located on the Lakefront Promenade at Memorial Point, the 9/11 Memorial in Lake Charles stands as a poignant reminder of that day. The memorial features two steel beams from the World Trade Center and a piece of limestone from the Pentagon, reflecting the enduring strength and courage of our nation.

Designed by local artist Susan Arnold, the "Ribbon of Souls" surrounds the memorial, its stained glass circle symbolizing each life lost that day. Engraved on these sacred artifacts are the names of two local heroes, Russ Keene and Kevin Yokum, who perished at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, respectively.

This serene setting invites all who visit to reflect, remember, and find solace in the principles of liberty and justice that unite us as a free nation.

Today, and always, we honor their memory. 🕯️❤️
