We made a stop at the famous Corn Palace before we departed Mitchell SD. Travel day today with a scheduled dinner at the Machine Shed this evening before settling in for the night. Tomorrow making our way home.
Out West Trifecta included 3 National Parks, Tetons, Yellowstone and the Badlands. 3 National Forests, Medicine Bow, Big Horn and Black Hills. 2 National Monuments, Mt Rushmore and Devils Tower. And 1 State Park, Custer State Park. Plus so much more.
Great group of travel friends that shared this latest adventure.

We finished the day today with a great meal at Al's Oasis restaurant. Then we wrapped up the day with a group picture at the Dignity statue at the Lewis and Clark visitor center . Another perfect day made up of special memories.

We said goodbye to Deadwood SD today, as we headed to the famous Wall Drug. Great place for black hills gold, turquoise, Badlands souvenirs and the famous Wall Drug donuts. Next, we entered the Badlands National Park. The scenery is amazing. No sheep this trip, but never the less, an amazing drive.
On to dinner at Al's Oasis. Hopeful the new owners kept up on the tradition of great food and pie.

Our Free day in Deadwood today. Great to finally wind down. Toured the area on the local trolley, then naturally some casino time. Tomorrow, off yo the Badlands as we make the turn to head home.

Our drive into the Black Hills National Forest and Custer State Park, with lots of Buffalo. The tunnels get smaller and the road continues to narrow on the Peter Norbeck scenic byway. Piggy back turns everywhere, and a Corvette parade along the byway as well.

Our day today included a full Mt Rushmore tour. Started with a pancake breakfast at Fort Hayes, then loaded up Fort Hayes tour buses for a full day tour of Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Peter Norbeck scenic byway, and the Needles Highway and tunnels. Ended with a Chuck Wagon dinner show with the Rocking Wranglers. Another great adventure shared by all today. And perfect weather too.

Another beautiful day. Said goodbye to Cody, and traveled up and over Big Horn National Forest. Saw 3 moose in the forest, plus Elk and Mule deer. Next, visited Devil's Tower, a national monument. Deer saw traveling around the tower by our travel friend Todd. Made it into Deadwood with a greeting by 2 mountain goat. Another fantastic adventure shared by all. Tomorrow, a full tour of Mt Rushmore and the Black Hills.

Our night tonight at the Yellowstone Valley Inn, just miles outside of Cody WY. Great rustic setting in a beautiful surrounding with mountains all around. Owners Alisa and Brian are perfect hosts. Spot to be remembered and to come back to.

We said goodbye to Yellowstone as we exited out the East Entrance. Saw black bear, wolf, bison, elk, mule deer all as we traveled our last stretch. Visited Cody and had a Stage Coach tour. Ate at the historic Irma hotel. Next, we visited the Buffalo Bill Dam. Our night stay along the Shoshone River in rustic cabins.
Tomorrow off to Devils Tower and Deadwood.
The adventure continues.
