WARNING: recently our listing for the River Birch was stolen and then listed on the booking.com website fraudulently. Booking.com was VERY difficult to work with and provided absolutely horrible customer service. Innocent guests planned their trip to our cabin only to find out when they got here that it was already rented and they had no where to go on a holiday weekend as everything in the area was fully booked! Aside from this, our concern for the safety of our guests also became a huge priority. With much persistence and eventually emailing corporate, it was finally removed from their site. Best form of communication was through Facebook messenger.
What you should know:
1. The rates they charge were exorbitant! The more I searched my property the higher the rates went. They went as high as $619/night and they were still getting bookings.
2. Even though I reported the fake listing immediately, they would
Not suspend the listing during investigation which resulted in more fraudulent bookings.
3. I strongly ADVISE NOT to use them for any of your travel needs since we have learned that this is a very common problem with the platform!
Please be extra diligent when using any platform! Do your homework!
