Our sunrise flight is canceled. Patchy dense fog, reducing visibilities to less than a mile in our flight area make balloon flight unsafe this morning. Fog is the most difficult weather feature to accurately depict.
A slight shift in air temperature or dewpoint means the difference between improving conditions and worsening conditions is very slight.
If we are going to fly, we want to make sure that visibilities don't dramatically decrease after launching.
The safe decision is to stay on the ground on a morning like this.

No rain so far, but the winds have picked up. We’d be meeting guests right about now and we not cancelled.

As the predominant west winds collide with the lake breeze off of Lake Michigan, we see pop up showers developing. The main concern is the unpredictable nature of those showers. Activity should dissipate around sunset.

Good afternoon. Regretfully we’ll be canceling this evening’s flight. The National Weather Service has put in a chance for scattered rain showers that includes our area.
Even though the odds of rain are low, the unpredictable nature of when and where it will happen makes flight in a balloon unwise.

We had a beautiful afternoon flight on Monday afternoon. We started in Burlington and flew to Rochester. Joining us were Clement, Karen, Mary Ann, Juan, Carla, Nathan, Etta, and Mike. We appreciate you choosing us for your adventure!

💥 We had a blast this morning flying from Elkhorn Middle Schhol to the airport at The Grand Geneva. We flew for just under one hour and covered nine miles. Checking a balloon ride off of their bucket list this morning were David, Lori, Dan, Julie, Jeff, Mark, Gay and Susie. Susie’s husband and son flew with us 19 years ago! 💜💜

We had a lovely sunrise flight in the town of Wheatland this morning. We flew for just over an hour and covered a little over 3 miles. The winds were such that we came back to our original launch point and landed just about 1/2 mile away. Joining us on today’s adventure was Aric, Deb, Pat, Marv, Linda, Bruce, Del, Trudy, and Irina!

We had a lovely sunrise flight this morning from Wheatland to Burlington. We flew for one hour and 8 minutes and covered almost 14 miles. SUNRISE FLIGHT CANCELED
Just a few hours too early this morning. High-pressure moves in, resulting in subsidence from that cooler air sinking into the region with little to no temperature inversion and swift winds above the surface.
The upper winds should subside throughout the day and tomorrow morning looks to be a much better opportunity for flight.

WE NEVER fly in front of an approaching cold front. While it appears that that severe threat is north of the area, our area will be impacted by the frontal passage this evening. Flight canceled for this evening and tomorrow morning as we deal with more instability in the early morning hours.

Thunderstorms continue to develop this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. Main area of coverage is in central and east-central Wisconsin, but additional development is expected across the cold front. Gusty winds up to 50mph and heavy rain are the main concerns. Brief funnel clouds are also possible along outflows and the cold front.
