So yesterday we shared some historical photos and last week for Fun-Fact Friday we showed a photo and told the history about the spur track that exists underwater over in front of 'Dog Beach' just a little ways down Beach Road from us...
Well it was so popular that we figured we would share a drone video we took earlier this week showing the full length of the underwater spur track all the way out to the stopper at the end and then back towards the beach.
The beginning of the track sits in about 5-6' of water and the end sits in about 15' of water.
Just know that if you dive down on these tracks, it is illegal to alter or try and take any souvenirs from the bottom since these tracks are considered an archeological site protected by the state of New York. So please be respectful!
Good morning Lake George!!
It’s nice to finally see the sun on such a beautiful clear day!
Video taken over by the Boardwalk Restaurant and Marina by Luke Dow Photography
It’s a cool blustery day up at Ticonderoga at our Dry Dock!
But the work must go on!
Another couple days of heavy heavy rain in the area to end a week!
You can see West Brook in the distance really flowing, pushing tons of silt and water out into the lake!
Be careful out there today!
Whether from large puddles, overflowing streams or washouts!
Drive carefully today!
New boiler being loaded onto the Minne

Well… the work has begun!!
Here is a fun Timelapse of the generator being taken out of the engine room yesterday as the make way for the boiler and other doors to be put in by the crane!!
More to come!
Big THANK YOU to Troy Boiler Works Inc for all the work of taking out the old boiler and helping us plan and execute this massive renovation!!
And thank you to Mullins Rigging for your crane and operator's expertise in making sure that this pick goes as smoothly as possible!!
Calliope Truck rolls down for the Light Up The Village parade!
Thank you to Danielle Dunleavy for sharing this awesome video of our 1957 Calliope Truck rolling down Canada Street during the Light Up The Village Parade a couple of weekends ago!!
So glad that you and your son enjoyed listening to Captain Matt Dow playing the calliope as they rolled on by!
Hey Y’all, you here that sound??
That’s the sound of the calliope truck gearing up for tonight’s Light Up The Village Parade happening TONIGHT RIGHT HERE IN LAKE GEORGE!!
Parade starts at 6pm so be sure to be out on Canada Street to catch it as it cruises by!!
Who saw our calliope truck in this year’s south glens Falls Fire Company’s holiday parade yesterday?
Thank you to Captain Anthony Benadetto, who was playing the calliope and Captain Victor Bates, who was driving our 1957 calliope truck!

Here is the other fun video we wanted to show of the Steamboat Natchez cruising down the River on her shakedown cruise a week ago!
Which video do you like better?
The slowmo video this morning? Or this Timelapse video??
Today to close the week we are going to close out with TWO videos from our sistership’s return to the River!
Here is a fun lil slow Mo video of the Steamboat Natchez as she rolls down the River, as the New Orleans skyline is off in the distance!
Good morning everyone!
To start today here is a video of the Steamboat Natchez as she pulls away from the wharf and starts moving down the river while Captain Matt Dow plays on her steam calliope!
Hope y’all enjoy!
Here’s a Timelapse of the Steamboat Natchez pulling away from the wharf to head downriver on her shakedown cruise this past Friday!
The Minne is successfully put back into the water!
She is going to wait a few hours for her boiler to warm up before steaming back down the lake, but she will be back later this evening and be good to go for cruises next weekend!!
Mission accomplished!!
The Minne is now high and dry!
Why is she being dry docked?
We are fixing our bow and stern thruster.
How long will the Minne be out?
Hopefully only until Sunday or early next week sometime!
Hopefully back in time for Balloon Fest Weekend!
Mohican passes through Paradise Bay
Here is a great video, that was shared with us by Paul Fieman, of the Mohican passing through Paradise Bay earlier this summer!
Thank you again Paul! And keep up the great work with those fantastic models!
Cant wait to see what the Saint looks like when you wrap up with her!
Well it is official! The New Windmill up at our landing in Ticonderoga is up and running!!!
Well, kinda… the motor would only spin the wrong way and then randomly stop… lol. Oh well!
Our Chief Dry Dock Engineer and Employment Terminator, Hendrik Overbeek, but this in honor of the late Bill Dow.
So please feel free to check it out, but please DO NOT TOUCH OR REMOVE THE ANIMALS!!!
It was built out of love as a memorial, so please honor Henk’s hard work!
Also please forgive the shaky video, it was awfully gusty up there when I was capturing this Timelapse! Lol
Who else saw this beauty this evening?!?
Boaters are out IN FORCE TODAY for Labor Day Weekend!!
And this is NOT EVEN the busiest section of the lake!
Cant even imagine what the narrows, Bolton, or Sandy Bay are looking like today!
Tuesday will be a stark difference on the lake though...
Cant wait to share that with everyone!

Steam is up and ready to go for another beautiful day of sailing!
The after show scatter!!
Cant wait to capture it again on Monday Night!!

It is tough to hear with the winds whipping out there (21° and 14mph winds making for 8° windchills!) but thanks to the sub-32° weather we’ve been having the ice is solid again and moving around and so it is moaning and groaning like crazy!
Hope the warm weather returns and honeycombs the ice again to reduce the dock damage caused by ice out!
Looks like we spoke too soon!
The flakes are flying like crazy here in the village!
So be careful when driving home from work this evening!
