Lake Wales Florida is host to a monthly car show in the downtown district on Stuart Avenue. The show is held on the 4th Saturday of every month, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., excluding the months of June, July & August (too hot). Featuring classic, custom, antique and modified late model cars. Live music hosted by professional D.J. Jennifer Johnston with WJBJ - cruising with the classics. Free registrat

ion and free admission. 50/50 and door prizes including cash, merchandise, and gift certificates are given away to car owners at 6:45 p.m. Stuart Avenue closes at 3:30 p.m. and show cars should enter Stuart Avenue from Scenic Highway after street closure (you will be entering the wrong direction on a one-way street). Come and enjoy the ambiance of historic downtown Lake Wales. Retail shops and restaurants are open late.

Sorry for being a little late in this post. Happy New Year to all of our hot rod friends near and far!!! We wish everyone a healthy and blessed new year in 2025.
I also want to "THANK EVERYONE" that joined us last evening for the New Years Eve car Show. We had 70 registered I've been told that we had over 90 cars in attendance. It was a beautiful evening. Lots of new cars I have never seen before, several traveling from afar.
A special thanks to Do**in'It Food vendor, Cheryl, Cathy, Lindell, Randy, Richard and Bruce for you assistance all evening.
Hot Rod Lou and I feel very blessed to have all of our hot rod friends!

The Christmas season is fast approaching and the Downtown Lake Wales Cruise is Sat night. 4pm-7pm. Supposed to be a chilly evening so bring your coat or blankets to stay warm. But you do not want to miss this one. Great oldies will be filling the air, good food on the griddle by Do**in' It and tables full of door prizes, Santa style. Remember you must participate in the 50/50 to be eligible for the door prizes as well as half the money.
We welcome all makes and models and would love to fill the downtown area!!!

Lake Wales Car Show is now held on the First Saturday of the month. Come join us this Saturday November 2nd in Historic Downtown Lake Wales. Downtown restaurants and stores open. Car show is open to all makes and models. DJ by Hot Rod Nights, 50/50, door prizes, Merchants Choice award, 4-7pm. No entry or spectator fees.

The Lake Wales Car Show is Back! Come join us this coming Saturday on East Stuart Avenue in historic downtown Lake Wales for a great show now hosted by Hot Rod Nights. Great music, Cruiser of the Month Award, 50/50, and door prizes. Downtown restaurants and shops are open and there will be a food vendor on site. Congratulations to Dale Shellenbarger for winning the Merchants Choice Award at the May Lake Wales Car Show held in Historic Downtown Lake Wales on Saturday May 25th.

Dale's creation started life as a 1987 Pontiac Fiero, but you would never guess this by looking at it. Dale is a retired custom car builder and paint and body who took on this project to keep himself busy. Dale stripped the Fiero down to the chassis and custom built an entire new body, using parts from other makes/models, along with parts he constructed from scratch. Unique to say the least. What a work of art. Thanks for sharing Dale!

Just a reminder....the Lake Wales Car Show is suspended for the months of June, July and August due to the heat, rain and bugs.

Congratulations to Larry and Debbie Grabb, winners of the Merchants Choice Award at the April Lake Wales Car Show! Their 1938 Plymouth P6 Deluxe features su***de doors, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, powered by a 350ci small block Chevy. It also has a back seat large enough to throw a party in!

Our May Show is this Saturday May 25th. This will be the last show until September. We break for June, July and August to avoid the heat, bugs and thunderstorms.
Come enjoy all of the classic, custom and modified late model cars that attend our show. Open to all makes and models. Absolutely free to participate or spectate.

Congratulations to Jay Coppola, winner of the Merchants Choice Award at the March Lake Wales Car Show! Jay brought his 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 convertible that he purchased and restored in 2015. As optioned, this one out of 100,000 Cougars built in 1969. Photo attached.

Come to our April Show this Saturday April 27th and enjoy all of the classic, custom and modified late model cars that attend our show. Absolutely free to participate or spectate.

Don't miss the Central Florida Street Rod Association Poker Run and Lake Wales Car Show This Saturday March 23rd. The Poker Run begins in Winter Haven and ends at the Lake Wales Car Show. Congratulations to Stephen Whitaker, winner of the Merchants Choice Award at the Feburary Lake Wales Car Show. Stephen is a regular attendee at the show with this impeccable 1936 Ford Coupe. Come see great custom, classic and modified late model cars in Historic Downtown Lake Wales on the 4th Saturday of each month, September through May. Congratulations to Bob and Cindy Childs for being awarded the Merchants Choice Award at the January Lake Wales Car Show. They have owned this outstanding 1970 Chevelle SS for 11 years and Bob completed all of the work himself, except for paint. Great choice! Thanks for sharing this beauty at our 14th Anniversary show Bob and Cindy!

Don't miss another great show this Saturday, February 24th in Historic Downtown Lake Wales. Great music, merchants choice award, 50/50 and lots of door prizes!

Also, don't let the construction on Park Avenue deter you from coming down and enjoying the show, restaurants and stores. Park Avenue is closed to vehicular traffic but the restaurants and stores are open.

Congratulations to Al Kovacic on receiving the Merchants Choice Award at the November Lake Wales Car Show. Al got this car in Ottawa, Ontario during COVID and did repairs and clean up with the help of a buddy. This 1970 Buick GS Convertible is black, on black on black and is a beauty! Congratulations Al!

Congratulations to Al Kovacic, winner of the "Merchants Choice Award" at the Lake Wales Car Show held in Historic Downtown Lake Wales in November. This beautiful 1970 Buick GS Convertible (black on black on black) was a Covid project Al purchased in Ottawa, Ontario. This is an non-restored original paint car Al repaired and cleaned up with the help of a friend. Thanks for sharing with us Al!

There will be no show in December since the 4th Saturday falls on Christmas weekend.

Congratulations to Ron and Judy Tietzie, the winner of our October Merchants Choice Award. Ron has owned this totally original 1962 Chevy Impala with 38,000 miles for 4 years and it is a real crowd stopper. That's our DJ John Sawyer and Assistant Show Director Cheryl Bossarte in Halloween costumes presenting the trophy to Ron. Thanks for bringing this beauty to the car show and Halloween Spooktacular in Lake Wales, Ron!

We had a great turnout at our September Lake Wales Car Show. Congratulations to Rodney Anderson from Avon Park for winning the Merchants Choice Award with his recently completed 1930 Ford 5-window Coupe. Great workmanship and a beautiful ride.

Our next show is Saturday October 28th on East Stuart Avenue in Historic Downtown Lake Wales from 4-7pm. DJ, Merchants Choice Award, 50/50, lots of door prizes. Restaurants and Shops will be open.

A Halloween Spooktacular is taking place on Park Avenue and Stuart Avenue from 5-7:30, and Pioneer Days will be in full swing on Lake Wailes in the morning.

Make a full day of fun activities in Lake Wales!

Lake Wales Car Show is back! Hope to see you this Saturday September 23rd in Historic Downtown Lake Wales. The Lake Wales Car Show resumes on the 4th Saturday of each month (September thru May). 4-7pm. Great music, 50/50, Door Prizes, Merchants Choice Trophy, lots of door prizes. Park Avenue is under construction but restaurants and shops are open!

Below: Congratulations to the recipient of our May 2023 Merchants Choice Award. The trophy went to Peter Lanzilloth who has owned this stunning 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible for 53 years. Production number 0051, this rare Miami Blue Firebird is powered by a 400CI V8 and a 4-speed manual transmission. Thanks for bringing this beauty to the Lake Wales Car Show Peter! Hope to see you again soon!
