Fisher joined me for a shakedown outing out of Cleveland where BlackH2oDog Charters will be running through the Walleye Slam and Fall Brawl.

Fisher surprised me as he went for a swim as soon as we got to the boat. I was trying to get a photo of him on the boat from the dock and he jumped towards me when I said his name.

We gave the Starboard side Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards a workout going 15/15 on the Walleye in a couple of hours. All cookie cutter eaters, mostly 20" to 24".
Carrot Top Bandit 25 to 80 back. Best being 40 back. Flicker Minnow 11 white and chrome 40 to 80 back. Bill Lewis PWC lite 60 back.

Speed was 2.4 mph.

Steven returned this year with two of his grandsons and one of thier friends. They opted to make this a Walleye trolling day. We pointed the boat towards the rising sun until we were well East of Kelley's Island. We had a slow start but once we got out NW to SE troll dialed in, we were popping Eyes on BADMO LURES Arrowhead Spoons 80 back on Dipsey 3 setting. 70 back on Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. Fish TruTrip 50s and 95 back on TruTrip 40s.

On the other side ACME Reef Stalker Jr's 100 back with 2 oz.

Speed was 2.4 mph.

Randy brought his father Paul and Nephews Michael and Zachary to Lake Erie for a day of drift and casting for Walleye.

This crew worked extremely hard no breaks, no snacks and were rewarded with a nice pile of Walleye fillets.

Fishing was tough, but the no measurements required grade of 20"+ Walleye was nice to see.

We focused on shallow rock piles. Some of which were along fire 🔥 with 🏆 Catfish.

Great day on the water with this crew. Looking forward to another trip with with these guys.

Today we celebrated Haris and Shenna's son Micah's 10th birthday. Here from the DC area the combined a weekend at Cedar Point with a Lake Erie fishing charter.

We opted to cast for our fish today and catch and release or fish today. Catching multiple species was also a goal.

We fished East of KI and worked rocks as shallow as 8 feet deep.

The catching started strong but as the wind backed down and the sun got higher in the sky, our bite slowed.

I had a great time fishing with Micah and his parents.

Bill reached out wanting a Walleye charter for 3 with a chance for Smallmouth. We started the day casting but we weren't getting the results we had hoped for. So we made a run to the East where we had been a few weeks ago East of KI.

We dropped our Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s and Dipseys on corners. BADMO LURES Arrowhead MiniMo spoons. Sassy Cassie, Blodgid and Carrot Stick were best patterns.
TruTrip 50s 50 back, Dipsey 3 setting 67 and 73 back.

Badmo Arrowheads were the bait of the day.

TruTrip 40s on Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards 75 back with spoons.

On the outside boards we ran LilRipper 75 back 3 oz and Flicker Minnows 2 oz 90 back.

Speed was.2.1 mph

Larry had a Christmas present for his grandson Teddy who had never been on Lake Erie. This was a short late afternoon Yellow Perch trip. To help them with the light Perch bites we sought sheltered water ward if seasick. The plan worked, we used both Vodka emerld shinners and live Goldies from Jeanett's Bait & tackle. The live golden shiners outperformed Emeralds yesterday.

After their fill of Yellow Perch we headed back to East Harbor State Park Marina and sent them home ready for a fish fry.

Mike and his Wife Susan were in the area to fish for cats in the bay but wanted a little Lake Erie time for Walleye. This was a drift and troll day utilizing the islands as wind protection. We cast for a while, but we're only able to catch one and two year olds. Since a Walleye dinner was in the plans, we brought out the BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons and went to work. Dipsey 3 setting 60 back. Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s 42 back. On the Off Shore Tackle Company inline planners, we ran Ripplin Redfins 50 and 70 back with 3 oz inline weights.

Pink backed Arrowhead spoons out performed all others.

A nice cooler of Island Eyes are headed south for dinner.

Juan and his Columbus crew braved the waves and boxed 110 Yellow Perch. We fished between the islands in 30 fow.

Cut Emeralds from Jeanett's Bait & tackle .

Bare hooks out performed fly material hooks. Once all rigs were bare hook, everyone was catching equally.

Karen and Matt were in town for baseball tournament at Cedar Point with their son Vinny.

We didn't get the big Walleye but we were able to get some big water experience on Lake Erie.

Stuart brought his brother, his mother and a close friend for a little Walleye casting. They knew the winds were up but wanted to give it a go.

We started in open deep water grabbed a few solid Walleye then headed to shallower protected water. We picked a few but it was a grind. The Catfish were on fire this weekend.

Upon finishing my AM Saturday charter there was a group of 3 at the marina looking to scratch Lake Erie Walleye off their bucket list. So we cleaned up the boat, added some fuel and ice and we headed East to the Roller Coasters.

Crawlers on one side 30 to 60 back with 3oz weights on Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards. TruTrip 50s 30 and 50 back with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons. Dipsey 3 setting 63 back with butterfly blade worm harnesses.

Walleye were on fire 🔥 along with the big cats. Two over 30 inches with larger just over 33 inches. This crew finished their limit and secured 2 Fish Ohio certificates.

After fishing they headed over to Sassy Sal Charter Fish Cleaning before heading for Cincinnati area.

Liberty gifted a Walleye charter for her boyfriend and Father. They turned the gift certificate into a cooler full of Lake Erie Walleye.

Matt and his family from Nebraska wanted to catch fish on Lake Erie. This was to be a catch and release trip, but they took my suggestion to keep a few Walleye for a meal at Crow's Nest. We had a great day casting for Walleye, we had a great deal of catch and release in shallow water. We also caught a fair share of White Bass, Sheephead and Catfish.

This crew started with a fish on the first cast and never stopped the whole morning.

Fished South of South Bass and Kelley's Island.
