I am so excited to share our new Lakeside kitchen reveal at JBird Cottage! After 3 years or remodeling this is officially our last room in the cottage to have an overhaul! I am absolutely in love with how it turned out! There will be a few more details added over the next year… but for now it’s ready for the 2024 summer season! Enjoy the pics!

Things have been busy around JBird Cottage this spring! All the old siding got removed. Some new studs in places from water and old termite damage. A couple of windows had to be reframed. Quite a big project. Looking forward to some reveals!

Before and after photos of the “stairway of doom” as I used to refer to it! This old home has a very narrow and steep staircase. It used to be very drab and dark, nobody enjoyed it. We lightened it up and added some cozy carpet treads! Much needed improvement. As a side note to the construction of this cottage… when we ripped out the wall along the steps there were very few studs holding the wall up. So we had that fixed up to standard building codes and added insulation behind the wall! Yay for keeping the cottage more sturdy and functional!

Here are some pictures of the newly renovated family room and dining room! We’ve been working on this project all fall 2022 and spring 2023. With a little work done over the winter! Many trips to the Lake by all who helped us achieve our vision and dream for this part of the cottage. New foundation, floors, ceiling, walls, electric work, lighting, window treatments….!!!! It’s super cozy and fresh! Perfect for relaxing at Lakeside with family meals, game nights, movie nights, afternoon siestas, reading a good book and more!

We’ve been up at JBird Cottage a couple times lately!!! Lakeside is coming alive and looking beautiful! Excited to get the front room put back together and see the vision unfold! For now… we have lots of work ahead of us. So excited for when I have the reveal pictures to show you all!
