ABOUT JIM AND SOULCLIMB – A SHORT BIO
Hi, I’m Jim. I’ve been on this earth for 56 years and change. For the past quarter century or so, I have served (and still serve as) a College Professor in Psychology. About a decade ago, I became interested in, and began studying what brings people happiness. Almost immediately, I felt the need to share something so incredibly significant with ‘the world’. T
hus, I developed, and eventually began teaching a college course on The Psychology of Happiness in 2013. At approximately the same time, I created OLYMPUS – a Life Coaching practice, with the objective of helping real, “everyday people” deal successfully with the issues and predicaments of real, everyday life. Over these past four plus years, in both my roles, as a ‘teacher of happiness’, and as a Life Coach, I have witnessed firsthand the power that the ideas I’ve shared have to change lives. Students of all ages have professed how what they’ve been exposed to has widely impacted their way of looking at things and has transformed their existence. Many of my clients have equally benefited by structuring their lives according to the very same principles that I impart in my classes. In essence, what my students and clients have both discovered and have come to understand is that ‘happiness’ and ‘the good life’ are inevitably tied to a mode of living where we are always actively working towards being our best selves. In short, what brings us the most happiness is continuous ‘personal growth’. And thus now, I believe that it’s time for a new venture. It’s time for SOULCLIMB. SOULCLIMB will offer ongoing workshops, focusing on Personal Growth, beginning in September 2017. The settings for these workshops have been carefully chosen to feel warm and inviting. Also, group size is purposefully limited. The idea of both the setting and the workshop structure is for all to relax and feel free to speak, listen, learn, share, and grow. Together, everyone in the room ‘climbs’. That’s because EVERYONE – regardless of age, ability, talents, interests, or circumstances - CAN EXPERIENCE PERSONAL GROWTH. On the SOULCLIMB page I plan to share timeless wisdom from sages of all eras, links to useful and enlightening readings that I come across, and to pass on personal and pertinent thoughts through occasional blogs. SOULCLIMB’s aim is simply to help as many people as possible live a more inspired, joyful and purpose-driven life – because there is no other way to live, but to live ‘fully’. Whether you join me in one of my workshops, or just follow this page, I aspire to help you do just that. Jim
