We are still celebrating the wonderful warmth and cheer of the season. This particular tree holds a ribbon at the top that is in memory of the owner’s late grandmother, Jean. Grandma Jean loved Christmas and all of the joys of giving, cookie making and celebrating the reflections of love ❤️ of faith, family and friends. ALL were always welcome in her home any time of the year and this is what we celebrate in our home every chance we get to share it. Come experience this special vibe that is truly a place to rejuvenate your soul through simple joys of life. See you when you get here. Maybe we will leave the tree up year round just like Grandma Jean used to…when do you take your tree down for the season?

Help us prevent neighbors from being “Hangry.”

We love to help our neighbors. We are partnering with Restoration Relief to help collect food for Water Street Mission! We don’t think anyone should ever be “Hangry” or “Hungry.”

Message us to a drop off non-perishable non-expired food items at our home (please consider proteins and pastas and yummy stuff) from now until the week of November 22nd!

Grandma’s old drop leaf table holds the old Atlas recently left open to an old map of Lancaster County by one of our guests … come explore and call us your home away from home. Most road-trips to places unknown before cell phones would see my family fumbling through the trusty road atlas to find our way … Once the adults had pinpointed our location, they would pass it back to me to test my mapping skills and for me to look at the maps’ intersection of colorful lines and try to decipher where we were in relation to where we were going.
Where are you in relation to where you are going?? We now have phones and tons of technology that eliminates the need for an Atlas, but take a look sometime - the Atlas often has stories of the places, history and creates a simple experience in itself as you discover where you are going… Amidst being lost or in the unknown, we often make the most priceless memories. Enjoy the simplicity of life as you go and find rest here with us along the journey through life! Share in the simple ways of a different time at our home - cherish memories made with grandparents and family and friends and walk away knowing that you found joy & rest here in Lancaster County!

Very grateful for this old farmhouse that has taught us to stick by our faith and trust in the process of making memories. What do you bring with you when you travel with your dogs?

🛏️ Dog beds or blankets
Bowls🥣🦴
Treats and food in sealed container
Paperwork showing up to date shots & any pertinent medical history
Leashes and collars (make sure to have phone number on their tag)
Travel bowls and hiking/walking accessories
We pack plenty of P**p Bags
Travel Crate (folding wire)

We rarely leave our pups unattended in any vacation home, but if we must, we always try to:
- exercise them well each day to help reduce stress or anxiety
- groom them and trim nails prior to the trip
- allow for time for them to do their business just before we leave
- make sure that they are restricted to only one area of the home or we crate them
- leave them with familiar blankets or a piece of our clothing
- leave them with plenty of water and good temperature in the home
- ensure that the owner of the home has our number should there be any issue at all.
- we always try to limit the amount of time that we are away from the vacation home.

The owners, Luci & Suzi, spent the weekend & last 6 months planning & running the Steak Cookoff Association Smoke Showing Cookoff and Smoke Showing Community Day event at Lafayette Fire Company! We got to host the masterful World Steak Cookoff Rep, Michelle Dang and made sure she experienced true Lancaster hospitality! We also hosted a Virginia cooking competitor, Raz Braz, who has now added cooking for all of our firehouse the night before the competition as a tradition to supporting our local firehouse. He cooked nearly 40lbs of smash burger meat and provided all the fixings for it while a potluck was organized for all firefighters, their families and all involved with our event!! How fun and generous!! Neighbors helped run the 0.5K, sponsored prizes and our local Lancaster BBQ Supply friends were the premier sponsor of the event!! We are incredibly grateful to all those willing to help make our community what you all have come to enjoy! Looking for a place to stay or getaway in Lancaster - we are here for you!

Instead of staying in tonight and cooking, we opted to visit our local, the Tavern by Spring House Brewing Co, in nearby Strasburg. We enjoyed their always amazing Smashburger, Smoked Baby Back ribs and brisket-topped nachos (pictured)!! So so good!!

We can’t wait to share our new to us shuffleboard table that we got at our neighbor’s auction this week! We love it even more because it belonged to fellow firefighters’ family and we’re sure there are some good stories to go with it! Love thy neighbors!! The Amish have the coolest games and craftsmanship.

An amazing sunrise and colors over the falls welcomed us to this Easter morning. May everyone have an attitude of gratitude in the coming year for all the simple moments in life.

We took great joy and peace in seeing our 99House guests do an Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard. Meanwhile, the pups of our other home meandered on leash to explore the semi-frosted yard with their senses, as the rising sun warmed the night’s work. The chickens announced the morning in their own song and rhythm, and we walked over the footbridge to take a stroll with our own friends that have become family making small talk and observations. Suddenly it seemed the sun had maneuvered directly overhead catapulting us into a more rapid pace as we prepared for the biannual family gathering.

For those celebrating the Easter holiday today, may we love and serve others with all of our heart and souls - For He Is Risen!
