On this day, 11 years ago, my husband Paul made me a swamp girl. Through rain or shine we were touring and laughing!! Never could I imagine that we would add in a devastating pandemic that stopped travel. NEVER EVER could I imagine that soon afterwards we would add in Ida as things were just seeming brighter. The touring and laughter disappeared for us. It took some time, but slowly the touring resumed. Finally, the laughter returned and it just won’t stop. Our amazing staff has supported us through it all. They show up each day, helping us rebuild and keeping us laughing. There are no words to express our gratitude to our Cajun Pride family as we cannot do this without them.

So here we are, 11 years in and so very thankful to all that have visited and toured. We look forward to many more laughs with many more guests! Let the travel resume!!

IDA one month ago today… It’s hard to wrap my brain around the past month. Our small amazing staff has helped us every step of the way! We are truly blessed with the best staff ever. The encouraging messages from all over the world, the Go Fund Me from our friends and family, the lineman and total strangers that have gone out of their way to get us up and running. No words can express how thankful we are and how your kindness and generosity have blown us away. Every time we feel overwhelmed, we remember that we have care, support and help. It’s really meant the world to us and we will forever be grateful.

Day 29 Ida update… what’s up at CPST?? Lots of demo going on and getting close to completing this phase and moving on to planning the rebuild. Yesterday, we confirmed that electricity is back on which is a huge step. We finally feel like we can see the cleanup a little more each day.

BUTTT VERY IMPORTANT:
In the very near future we’re hoping to purchase a simple travel trailer for our very own Capt TTom! We were able to save his shelter/porch area (see picture) and just need to find a trailer to replace the one he lost. Anyone up to 6 hours of drive time have something for sale? Please contact through messenger if so. Looking for used but enough life that will keep our cap comfortable a few nights per week. Trailers here are way over our budget of $4,000-$5,000.

Feel free to share post and hopefully get something in place by the time we have our water restored.

ISO barn or similar for a cat. We’ve found 3 of our 15 cats at Cajun Pride Swamp Tours and we need 2 of them (1 found a barn) to go into a safe place. It’s not sustainable at the swamp with the upcoming demo. We don’t even have running water for them. The shelter has been damaged and they’re not taking animals.

We are so sorry to have to share this news with our friends today…

Day 4 Ida was tough. Somehow we managed to get to Cajun Pride Swamp Tours thanks to my husband’s driving skills! There’s no words to describe our feelings and heartbreak. Our hearts and souls were poured into this joint venture 10 years ago and our world revolves around the swamp and our amazing employees, especially those that have stuck with us through the pandemic. Not a day goes by that we regret the purchase and yes, we do want to rebuild. Yes, we will rebuild. We have to rebuild or we would loose what brings us the most happiness in life. This post pains me and I hate to even post bcus I’m not certain where to even start for the rebuilding process. Today is my husband’s birthday and this is not what I had in mind when I told him we should go on a new adventure!

Thanks for your calls and uplifting messages that help keep us going. Day by day we will move forward…
