Issues with J-1 visas in the ski industry
Some staff members at Keystone Resort are speaking out about their experiences working for Vail Resorts.
These staff members traveled to work in the United States on a temporary student visa known as a J-1. They told the Summit Daily that the company has not provided them with adequate hours, causing financial strain.
Copies of one staff member's work schedules, which were provided to the Summit Daily, show that for every week since Jan. 28, the employee was scheduled for two days — or 16 hours — not including an unpaid break. The employee said it’s barely enough money to cover his living expenses.
