HIGHLINE TRAIL, GLACIER PARK.
We snapped this shot of this "traffic jam" along the Highline Trail in Glacier Park. This section of the trail was built basically on the face of the cliff, so when hikers are headed in one direction, and an animal is headed in the opposite direction, there is always some decisions to be made. This time, the mountain goat decided to leave the trail and allow hikers to pass. We've personally have had mountain goats and bighorn sheep walk along side us as we leaned up against the wall of the cliff to give them as much room as possible. And yes, occasionally a grizzly will be on the trail, headed in the opposite direction of hikers. So far, from what we've researched (because it's never happened to us), no problems have ever arose from these very close encounters on this extremely popular Logan Pass hike. However, it certainly creates quite a memorable experience to say the least!!! We watched a video of a lone hiker having to hide behind a large rock on the Highline Trail as a grizzly walked by him on this cliffy area.
