Driving along Big Pine Rd today. Mostly cleared but icy/snowy in parts. St Rt 664 clear and dry. Our Wagner Rd plowed and treated, but still ice/snow covered. Ok with AWD. Cabin driveways would be a challenge - 4 wheel drive only!

@myhockinghills posted this awesome video of beaver watching on a Touch the Earth Adventures kayak tour. The Hocking Hills have amazing things to do, and observe!

It's finally been cold enough for some interesting ice formations in the Hocking Hills State Park, and even along our little creek at Marsh Hollow.

Right now is the BEST time to visit the Hocking Hills with the lowest cost and smallest crowds, especially if you visit during the week. And we offer some great last minute specials if you are a spontaneous traveler. Visit us at www.marsh-hollow.com to check out all of the deals. And here are a few pix of our Operation Manager's wife, Carolyn, on her recent hike from Old Man's Cave to Cedar Falls and back, with first time hiker Groot. He did great!

The Marsh Hollow gang took the kids to Hocking Hills Canopy Tours yesterday to complete the Dragonfly Course. The kids loved it. The staff were fantastic, especially, with our timid dragonfly. Here's some video of the not so timid dragonfly. Call 740-385-9477 to book or check them out online.

The new Hocking Hills Visitor Center Old Man's Cave is under construction, although it looks like they're just moving dirt around now. It's due to be completed December 2018, and replaces the old one on the same site. We've heard that the only food service will be vending machines. Not sure why ODNR decided to do away with the popular food sevice window. The restrooms have been torn down, but a whole line of portable has been added. Trails and parking lots are all open. Unfortunately, it's kind of noisy.

The Ash Cave waterfall doesn't freeze every year, but it's well in its way this year. This video is from today, but we'll check back later in the month to see if it will become a real frozen waterfall. #wintervacation

Yesterday, we were checking out locations for a new footbridge near Shadyside. We discovered that some of our guests had been very busy constructing interesting structures of their own. Don't forget your creek shoes when you visit Marsh Hollow!
