Historic Taylor Barn is unique limestone barn built in 1879 by Eben Baldwin and German masons that once held stalls for 30 head of horse and a capacity of 80 tons of hay. The farm has been owned by the Taylors since 1947 and is currently a working farm owned by Debi & Charles Taylor. lled Holiday Open Barn where local artists set up booths to sell and share their work with the public. This event began in 2007 and has been wildly successful in the community. In addition to Holiday Open Barn, Historic Taylor Barn has also been hosting private weddings and events since 2007. Also new to our preferred caterer's list is 'Flint Hills Catering'! We hired them for our daughter's wedding last fall, after a wonder visit for a taste testing (they came to us), and we could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. The menu has great options, they have family involved to help with staffing, and the entire crew was spot on. I look forward to working with them in the future.

Because Bobby and company catered a couple of gigs at our venue over the summer and they put on the best presentation ever! Love you to the moon!! Local paper Mâché artist Rose Cambell has out done herself again!! See you in the barn tomorrow. Sneak peek starts at 2 o’clock. Plan on having a late lunch or early dinner with KC Corn Dog. 

The Big Day

Today is bag and tag! I love this part of making art, especially adding the finishing touches to smudge sticks. Dried flowers are the perfect ‘bow’. Getting ready for Holiday Open Barn in November.

Perfect colors for an August wedding! Thanks ACA Rental and Sunflower Rental, Flowers by Owen’s Flower Shop.

Perfect weather for rust dyeing. Buffaloes and sunflowers are only taking a few hours to complete. Over the next few days, I will do the finishing touches with some paint and fabric dye.  Holiday Open Barn is only three months away!!

Sorted a few large calves this morning that needed some attention. The guys watch carefully for eye issues and an occasional wart. Of course Beau has to supervise all.
