Hello everyone! I haven't posted anything in a while and wanted to jump on and update everyone! Steve and I have had a busy summer. After our last motor coach tour to Michigan and Wisconsin we took some time and traveled with friends on two different trips to the west coast. We had an absolute blast and made some wonderful memories.

Many of you have contacted me about 2025 and I am diligently working on the schedule and hope to have it out no later than October 15th if not sooner (I'm hoping for sooner ☺️ ). I have most of my locations locked in and I'm working on getting prices and nailing down the final details now. A couple of other dates are coming together and should be in place by next week.

Thank you to everyone that shared their pictures and posts from the Great Lakes trip. I had so many new contacts asking to be added to the email list. Steve and I can't thank you enough for your kind words regarding traveling with us. We are truly blessed with the best travelers!

We look forward to seeing those of you that are traveling with us to Helen, GA in December and we hope to see many of you in 2025. I will have lots of trips for you to choose from!

Happy September!!

The Travel Lady Tours departed on Friday, May 3rd for our first ever overnight Mystery Trip! Our first destination was Granville, TN, also know as Tennessee's Mayberry Town. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the T.B. Sutton General Store, toured all the historic buildings, and then closed out the day at the Outdoor Dinner Theater with another wonderful meal and the performance of the "Best of the "Darlings" Show. This little town is ran by approximately 240 volunteers that showed us so much "southern hospitality". It is definitely worth the drive. Look them up and go spend a day. You will not regret it.

After an overnight stay in Cookeville our second day (Saturday, May 4th) took us to Grundy County, TN and two great little cities, Tracy City and Gruetli-Laager (pronounced Groot-lee Lah-ger and it means). Our first stop in Tracy was the Farmers Market. We were greeted by the Mayor and Music. As always my group stimulated the economy 🤣 with purchases of honey, popcorn, jewelry, homemade lotions and jellies, and much more. From there we headed to downtown Tracy City (there are 3-100 plus year old businesses here) where we enjoyed a tour and lunch at Dutch Maid Bakery, before heading over to the Grundy County Historical Society Museum and Visitor Center where we learned all about Grundy County and Tracy City. (Coal was found here in 1840 and all 3 businesses were started by Swiss immigrants.) Iva with the Visitor Cener had prepared a fun little Scavenger Hunt for us. Then we were off to Gruetli-Laager (known as Gruetli until 1980 when the small community of Laager--originally known as Henley's Switch, and Gruetli were incorporated as a single city). In 1869 about 100 Swiss families purchased land in what would become the Colony of Gruetli (Gruetli means a new beginning). We toured the 1840's home and several other buildings on the grounds. The Grundy County Swiss Historical Society maintains the house and grounds through donations and grants and through volunteer help. They have a festival once a year to celebrate the settlement. This year's festival will be July 27th.

What a wonderful day! We started our day at The State Capitol with a guided tour and a meet and greet with Representative Kip Capley and Representative Clay Doggett., Then we enjoyed lunch at the Farmers Market before heading to the TN State Museum. After our visit at the Museum we had a guided tour of the Bicentennial Mall Park with the best Park Ranger, Jackson. He really knows his TN History! To end our day we enjoyed dinner and entertainment at Santa Fe Cattle Company. Dave and Daphne along with Rylee Barry did a fantastic job entertaining us. A big thank you to everyone that had a part in helping plan and coordinate this day and to those that traveled with us today!

2024 Trip Spotlight: March 28th: Tennessee State Capitol and Museum $159.00 per person

Join us for a visit to the Tennessee State Capitol, one of the most historic structures in the State of Tennessee. This magnificent Greek Revival building was designed by architect William Strickland and competed in 1859. It is one of the oldest working state capitols in the country. Next, we will enjoy lunch at the Farmer’s Market, make a short visit to the Bicentennial Mall, and then head over to the Tennessee State Museum.

The Museum that sits on the corner of Rosa L. Parks Blvd. and Jefferson Street at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park can trace its roots back to a museum opened on the Nashville public square in 1817. The Tennessee State Museum opened to the public at its present location on October 4th, 2018. Permanent Exhibits Include: Forging a Nation, Change & Challenge, Natural History, and many more!

After our visit to the museum, we will enjoy dinner and entertainment before heading home! You don’t want to miss our entertainment this evening. It will be one of our highlights of the day!

We have visited several State Capitols on our travels, and it is amazing to see the different structures and hear the history of each one. You don't have to be a Tennessean to enjoy this wonderful outing.

We will see you on the motor coach!

We returned home last night from a 12 day trip to New England. We visited all the New England States except Maine and had the most amazing trip. When traveling on Game Day we all try and dress in our colors and we have the best time. The couple that got this TN/AL rivalry started was unable to be with us this year and they stared traveling with me in 2014--we sure missed you Doc and Mary! It's a really fun day with lots of fun jabs!
