First quilt top completed of the new year!

What should I do with it now?
Quilt, bind, and call it good?
Do I make a second one to make the top longer and add borders?
Add border, quilt, and bind?
Make a second one for mommy and me quilts?
So many options and one more matching charm pack!

The SWOK Quilt Group assigned a charm pack challenge at the end of our November meeting to share at our January meeting. I was able to cut and complete the top in 3 days while my little girl napped. I only get about 2 hours a day to quilt (and take care of the house), so three days was super quick. This quilt top took one charm pack and some yardage. Best part? I had all of this fabric in my stash.

Here are a few photos from Saturday’s opening reception at the Leslie Powell Gallery that they shared this morning. It was a wonderful show, I enjoyed seeing my quilt displayed, and it was lovely seeing so many local artists in one place showing off their work.

Had a wonderful time yesterday at the Leslie Powell Gallery seeing all the quilts and oil paintings. It was so special to see my own quilt in the gallery. It was amazing seeing those of you who were able to make it out.

If you weren't able to make it and still want to see all the wonderful art, the exhibition will be available to view during regular gallery hours from Tuesday, 14 January to Friday, 28 February 2025. Regular gallery hours are 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

In the previous video, I cut all the HSTs and off camera cut all the squares. Now, I am laying out all the pieces according to the pattern I designed. I wasn't sure of the original layout, and made a few additional layout options. Now, you can able vote on which layout I went with.

The Wichita Mountain Quilt Guild Group had a Heart Challenge that was due at the end of 2024. Now those quilts are going to be displayed at the Leslie Powell Gallery starting on January 11th, 2025. A quilt I made in memory of my late Grandma will be displayed! Follow along while I show you how I made this quilt.

I haven't been posting as much as I was Chairperson for Christmas Time Quilt & Fiber Arts Show at First Christian Church of Lawton. This World Kindness Day I am working on projects to give to others. I ran the test embroidery to see if I liked the colors I plan to use together. The teddy bear is getting some small changes. What do you think I will be making?
