Cruising is BACK and it's one of the most requested travel plans this year by my clients! Why you might ask? It's a great way to visit multiple places while being able to relax and enjoy the scenery. A big PLUS is most things are included on board!

🛳🚢🛟Here's a TOP TEN of TIPS FOR FIRST TIME CRUISERS (and maybe even some veteran cruisers)-in no particular order: 🛟🚢🛳
✈️If you plan on flying, plan to arrive at least the day before arrival if at all possible. This is HUGE!

📂Designate 1 person from your travel party to hold all travel documents and check-in papers while going through the terminal for check-in.

🔌Take an over-the-door shoe organizer for your cabin to help store toiletries, sunscreen and other small items (check with your cruise line as some do restrict these). Magnet hooks work great as well since stateroom walls are magnetic.

🖨 Make sure to print off your luggage tags before you leave home and bring a small stapler to attach the tags to your bags right before you arrive at the terminal.

🍱Some cruise lines will have specialty dining options available for an additional charge.

🥐Most cruise lines offer a complimentary breakfast/brunch in the main dining room. On port days they may even offer an express breakfast for those wishing to explore their destination.

🚙If driving to your port, price around for parking options. Some hotels offer a cruise deal (room and parking pass for the hotel). You may even find a parking garage near the port you can park for cheaper than the cruise terminal.

🧰Pack your swim suit and a change of clothes in your carry-on bag, as well as anything you may need for the first few hours on board. It can be dinner time before your luggage arrives to your room. Take advantage of the pool and ship amenities while you await your luggage.

🥂🍻If you want to avoid high price drinks on the cruise...LISTEN UP! Most cruise lines will let you bring a 12 pack of soft drinks and 1 750mL bottle of wine per person (Disney Cruise Line includes soft drinks, but others do not).

🏊‍♀️If you want to experience an empty ship (or even take advantage of that pool that is always full), stay on ship during your port day. The ship is practically empty due to everyone enjoying the destination. You can even get some good deals in the spa while in port (and some restaurants and bars will remain open).

BONUS TIP: Use a travel agent (preferably me) to book your trip! As a travel agent, I have a whole library of resources to help make your trip one you will remember. I also travel ALL THE TIME to make sure I can provide the best service to my clients. ✈️

Let’s talk Disneyland! Whether you are a Disney fanatic or a newbie, everyone should experience Walt’s original park! It is a very different experience from Walt Disney World, so here’s some things about Disneyland you should know:
✨ Disneyland is located in Anaheim, California and was the first Disney park!
✨ Disneyland is known as “The Happiest Place on Earth.”
✨ Disneyland is where you see the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle!
✨ Disneyland has 2 parks: Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure.
✨Disneyland park is where you’ll find many “lands” such as Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, and also Galaxy’s Edge. While there are some similarities to Magic Kingdom at Disney World, many of the rides at Disneyland are different versions than what is at Magic Kingdom in Disney World!
✨ Disney’s California Adventure is where you’ll find Pixar Pier, Cars Land, and Avenger’s Campus. This is such a unique park!
✨ There are 3 on-property resorts: The Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, and Paradise Pier Hotel. The best part is, these resorts are all a quick WALK to the parks’ entrances! While staying on property always gives extra perks and is a must at Disney World, at Disneyland there are some good neighbor hotels that are great options, and many within walking distance as well.
✨ Park hopping here is a MUST! The parks are literally right across from each other and it is so easy to go between the 2.
If you need a quicker trip (2-4 days) or the thought of doing 4 parks is overwhelming to you, Disneyland would be a great option! There’s so many wonderful things to experience here, and they just kicked off the Disney100 celebration that will continue for the whole year! Let’s get a trip for you on the books, because as Walt said the day of the opening, “Disneyland is your land.”
