🩵 Our founder and former owner, Captain Trone has been honored with the National Rivers Hall of Fame Achievement Award 🩵

Co-owner, Carrie, shared, “Captain Trone was a man of greatness but also of the utmost simplicity and genuineness...He could fix just about anything onboard with little more than a dab of pro-poxy, common sense and old-fashioned ingenuity. His boats, as well as his employees, always had a great respect for his authority when he was on board.”

"The National Achievement Award is the highest honor presented by the Hall of Fame to individuals who are making significant contributions to America’s waterways."

Denny was a powerful mentor, captain, businessman, and friend to many. We look forward to honoring him at The Menard County Historical Society on Thursday, November 14th.

The crew loaded up our remaining food this week to be donated to Church of Peace UCC food pantry in Rock Island, Illinois.

The pantry is open to all every Saturday, and serves roughly 100 families per week. Patrons receive seven bags of food, which include meat, produce, baked goods, and canned staples. Our bulk items that were unable to be given to the pantry were taken to Christian Care, which serves 125 meals nightly.

We would like to thank Judy Patsch for orchestrating the relationship between us and the Church of Peace, and for coordinating pickup and delivery at the end of each season.

We are happy to help the community and glad our leftovers are not going to waste!

🩵 Crews with tattoos 🩵

Before the end of the season, some of our crew members got together to get matching tattoos. We chose a mayfly or fishfly (depending on your liking) because they're all something we battle together.

It's small, unique, and connects us together. We are grateful to have a crew that is also a family. So many of the same faces return year after year, and it's important to recognize what a gift that is.

🎉 And that's a wrap on our 2024 season. 🎉

We took our final cruise from Dubuque to Guttenberg and returning yesterday. We had beautiful weather and a full boat with a lot of familiar faces!

Over 10,000 people took time out of their lives to take a chance on our little family-run riverboat, and for that, we are grateful. Your support helps us keep cruisin' year after year.

It's not goodbye, it's we'll see you Memorial Day Weekend of 2025.

💙 Our last two-day cruise departed this morning out of LeClaire, Iowa. The end of the season is always bittersweet. Our captain and crew are much overdue a good night's rest, the chance to catch up with loved ones, and time at home.

💜That being said, the season always goes by too fast. We will miss the stories, photos, feedback, and adventures on the Mississippi.

🩷 We have a full weekend of one-day trips out of Dubuque before we close up shop for the winter. So, it's not goodbye yet; it's Twilight time!
