It is our final winter for a while as winter is on its way out and spring will be welcomed in. The Mountain Crew is at work on the Mountain Carving through all seasons. Currently, rock removal and finish work continues on the back side of the Sculpture. In this photo you can see a Crew Member torching on Crazy Horse’s Pinkie finger. With even the smallest finger towering over the Carver, this is a great shot to help put the Carving into size perspective!

It is a good to share a photo of the Mountain that reminds us of its massive scale, yet at the same time, displays meticulous artistic detail. Today, as you take on your own “big projects,” we encourage you to take time to appreciate all that has been accomplished – it will surely help energize you to dive into the work yet to be done!

It has been some time since we have shared the view looking down on Crazy Horse’s Hand with readers. There is an amazing amount of detail work that has been happening here. Take note of the creases at the joints and, where the snow is not hiding it, you can see the top of Crazy Horse’s Hand also has become more life-like in appearance.

The gang at Black Hills Premier Vacation Homes have the house looking spiffy and ready for a fun Fall. We had the decks refinished and the interior paint updated; everything looks so bright and inviting. The ginormous dining table with adjacent kitchen has been a huge hit with guests, as has the upstairs game room that's just inside the hot tub area.

Fall in the Black Hills is amazing.

The Homestake Gold Mine was claimed by two brothers, Fred and Moses Manuel, and their partner, Hank Harney on April 9, 1876. In June of 1877 George Hearst purchased the claim from the Manuel brothers for a mere $70,000. The Homestake Gold Mine would go on to produce over 40 million ounces of gold during its lifetime, valuing over a billion dollars. The mine would also go on to accomplish many technological and civic achievements. The Homestake Gold Mine was America’s longest continuously operated gold mine. It closed in 2002 as the oldest, largest and deepest mine in the western hemisphere, stretching over 8,000 feet below the town of Lead.

For us, it is always rewarding to take a look at a comparison of images. For example, here are two similar captures of the backside of the Carving, taken nearly a year apart. Seeing the work that has been done is not only captivating, but also motivating! friends, what is it that motivates you to pursue BIG Dreams?
