What a beautiful week we have had at Basecamp Lodge. Wonderful hike on the Mick Trail, mom and Bambi in our backyard, day trip to Devil’s Tower. absolutely stunning! pictures don’t do it justice. We hiked 6.8 miles on the trails surrounding Devils Tower…. what a fabulous day! Biking to Rochford to have lunch at Moonshine Gulch Lodge today, very excited!

The Lead Country Club is only a short 8 minute drive from Base Camp Lodge. It is a 9 hole course with amazing views! If guests are traveling from far away or don’t own any golf clubs, they have some available to rent.

Base Camp Lodge has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and sleeps 21 people! It’s the perfect place to stay for a group of friends, family gathering, or even a corporate retreat.

There is plenty of warm water and excellent water pressure throughout the lodge, no mediocre showers here after a long day of exploring the Black Hills!

Here are some really cool events happening this summer on the Mickelson Trail…

We're excited to announce that we'll have two Mickelson Trail events on the calendar next year!

The Big Mick on June 11th: ride from Deadwood to Edgemont in one day.

🚲 🍻 And brand new in 2022 ... Black Hills Rails to Ales on September 24th: ride from Hill City to Custer for meal, beverage and live entertainment. Two ride times to choose from. Morning ride, with lunch at Mt. Rushmore Brewing Company or afternoon ride, with dinner at The Custer Beacon.

My daughter and her friends had a bachelorette party at the cabin this weekend. She said she was extremely grateful for the air compressor since they wanted balloons everywhere!

They had over twenty girls in the house, ate pizza from the delicious Deadwood Pizza Factory on Friday night, went wine tasting, hit up the best Bloody Mary’s in Deadwood, the martini bar, Lewies for supper and then Deadweird! It was another great and memorable trip to the Hills!

It was quite a weekend at Base Camp! We put an epoxy coating on the garage floor, went on several ATV rides, and shared some fantastic food! Friends and family overachieved…again!

Good morning from the Black Hills! The trails are in pretty good shape, although they could really use a rain just like several places in the Upper Plains.

There aren’t too many ATV’s out on the trails. This kind of surprises me a little with the amount of people out here. I guess folks are riding their motorcycles rather than hitting the trail.

We stopped into Rec Springs for gas and had a great visit with John Gnarly about routes/trails to ride. http://recsprings.com/
He was very knowledgeable about the trails and had a huge map on his wall so everyone can see what he’s talking about. If you need a rental while you’re out here check him out.

We stumbled upon a really cool trail along Spearfish Canyon last week. It was pretty steep…like a free fall going down and a great pull going up.
