Lead, SD - July 26, 2023 - Gerard Keating of Keating Resources proudly announces the completion of the longest downhill mountain bike trail in South Dakota, located at the luxurious Deer Mountain Village.

Designed by the esteemed Pete Costain of TerraFlow, hailing from Whitefish, Montana, and skillfully built by Benchmark Trails, located in Pierre, South Dakota, the trails will gracefully descend from an elevation of 6,600 feet to 6,200 feet. Utilizing an inventive gravel base, these trails will offer a distinctive and exhilarating experience as they weave through the picturesque forest. Phase I of the project includes the creation of 5 miles of private trails, with 2.5 miles slated for completion by September 3, 2023, and the subsequent 2.5 miles to be finalized by September 30, 2023. Upon completing the entire trail system, Deer Mountain Village will boast an impressive 10 miles of total trails.

Deer Mountain Village will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Phase I on August 22, 2023, from 5-7 pm to celebrate this exciting new addition. The event will honor Pete Costain, the designer behind the remarkable trails, offering guests an exclusive first look at the visionary work.
