Move over George Jetson . . .Virgin Atlantic has announced a partnership with Joby Aviation Inc, a California-based company that’s building electric air taxis, for revolutionary “flying taxis” in the UK.

The partnership aims to offer “seamless, zero-emission, short-range journeys across the UK, starting with regional and city connections from Virgin Atlantic’s hubs at Heathrow and Manchester Airport.”

Joby’s electric air taxi is designed to carry a pilot and up to four passengers at speeds of up to 320 km/h (200 mph), with a range of around 160 km’s (100 miles).

Delta Air Lines has tested the taxis in New York City and Korea and says it hopes to have flights in NYC and Los Angeles later this year.

In the U.S., the FAA has cleared air taxis for flight in a "final rule" published in October that provides guidelines for training pilots and operations, MSN reports. It also said United Airlines, which has a partnership with Archer Aviation, also is planning to launch its first air taxis this year.

Archer Aviation’s website says it envisions a network of “vertiports” around Los Angeles, including LAX, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Burbank and Orange County. They’re hoping for service to start next year to help people beat L.A.’s famous traffic jams.

We saw many whales in very shallow water yesterday, the viz was very poor, but this mamma and baby came very very close. We did go out to deeper water with better visibility, but nothing matches this for close. WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE ! Yes, you need to be a very good swimmer, and the whale was swimming towards us, we did not approach it that close.

We are already starting to see limited availability for the 2025 Tulip Season - Did you know we can plan River cruises with pre and post options that can be completely customized? When Is the Best Time to See the Tulips? In 2025, the Keukenhof Gardens will be open from 20 March to 11 May. The best time to visit the tulip fields is from mid-April to early May, especially the last week of April. But keep in mind that nature decides. Where Can I See the Tulip Fields? They can be easily found within a 30-minute drive from Amsterdam clients, nearby several cities including Lisse, Noordwijk, Beemster, Alkmaar and Haarlem.

Traveling takes grace. Our 30 minute flight turned into 8 hours. First we got to the airport much earlier than needed, then heading into port villa about a thousand feet from landing the pilot decided the weather was too bad and we diverted to Santos and waited for the weather to improve. At 3:30 he decided to "give it a go". We safely landed and didn't get to our hotel until after 5. I am grateful that the pilot used his wisdom and experience to make it a safe trip.

Headed from Grace Bay over to Long Bay. The windy side of the island, the beach is a little smaller but for families with small children it is very shallow with no drop off.
