My cruise ended with breakfast in the morning & then I flew to Suva for the night.
The entire day was serendipitous.
I wanted to see the Fiji temple in Suva. Kai lives in Nausori. What I didn’t know is that the Suva airport is actually the Nausori airport 😳. I was driving around about a block away from where Kainoa lives.
I made my way to the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva to drop my bags & then had my taxi driver take me on a drive the rest of the day.
My taxi driver Jonie kept asking me if I wanted to see my son & couldn’t quite understand why I wouldn’t want to see him. In the end- neither one of us wanted to say goodbye again but there was definitely a part of me that wanted to see him & hug him but knew I would be so sad to leave him again. So instead we just drove around as I was soaking everything in.
1st stop- LDS temple in Fiji. It was so cool to be where Kai has been. Towards the end- two missionaries come walking up to see if I needed help with anything. I read his name badge & quickly realize he is our friend’s son from when we lived in Costa Mesa as newlyweds who got called to Fiji about 8 months ago. They just happened to be walking by. 😍
Next my taxi driver drove me around Suva & Nausori. I was seeing all sorts of landmarks in Kai’s mission pics. He stopped at a church building & asked if I wanted to see this building. I hop out & meet a lovely Fijian couple that was finishing cleaning the building. I tell them that my son is serving here & they say they have met him & that he serves in the next town. We go inside the chapel & I ask what town we are in & they say Nakelo. They ask me if I want them to call the missionaries who live across the street? When I find out that it’s Kai’s close friends that are living there & I say yes. It was so fun to see Kai’s district leader- Elder Linebaugh- who has become such a good friend before Kai even got to Fiji because they have mutual friends & Elder McFadden who went into the MTC with Kai & is one of his close friends.
I took them to lunch & it was so fun to get to know them better. Such good boys. I get back in the taxi & my driver says- he is so excited that he reunited me with my son 😂. He said he prayed to God to tell him which LDS church to take me too because he knew where many of them were. I didn’t have the heart to tell him otherwise because in the end— he led me to the exact boys that I wanted to see & I was able to give them one last little gift to give to Kai. ❤️

Such an incredible trip. Just flew into LAX with 1 more leg to go until I see my babies & hubby.
Fiji you have my heart ❤️ 🇫🇯

Day 4 Captain Cook Cruises Fiji
Viwa Island & Drawaqa Island

The day started off with an ocean swim & then after breakfast a snorkeling 🤿 tour to Viwa Island. The snorkeling was fantastic the entire trip but it just kept getting better & better. After snorkeling we had some beach time & this time I took the glass bottom kayak out. This was probably the most breathtaking beaches of all the beaches we went to.
We went back by zodiac to the ship for lunch & in the late afternoon headed over to Drawaqa Island which is preserved snorkeling site. Again- so much variety of coral & marine life. This was the grand finale of all snorkeling. There would be patches of really warm water, hot water & then cooler water. It was the weirdest phenomenon to keep swimming through different temperatures of water for so long. Afterwards snorkeling we finished at BBQ beach. They call it BBQ beach because there is no shade 😂
I finished the trip with another send off massage at the spa followed by a beautiful sunset & dinner. Cannot say enough good things about Captain Cook’s Cruises Fiji. Everything about it was top notch. Can’t wait to go back.

Day 3 Captain Cook Cruises Fiji Yasawa Islands
This day was incredible. We woke up & after breakfast went to Navotua for snorkeling. The coral & ocean life was like eye candy & so close to the surface of the water. After snorkeling we took zodiacs over to Sawa I Lau caves. We were able to go into the cave & swim. It’s about 16 steps up & down into the caves. The water is cooler than the ocean temps & there was a black eel swimming around which I’m so glad I didn’t find out about until I was out of the water 😳. We were able to enjoy some beach time right outside the caves too & then head back to ship for lunch.
The afternoon was filled with an impromptu “Pacific plunge.”
In the evening we took zodiacs over to Matacawalevu Village. We were able to experience the “Sevusevu” ceremony with the chief, have a lovo feast (Fijian dinner cooked in an earth oven), shop at their shell & handicraft market & watch the villagers “meke” (dance & sing). We capped off the night coming back to the ship for a buffet of desserts.

Day 2- Captain Cook Cruises Fiji

You could start off your morning with an ocean swim at 7am followed by breakfast & then we tendered at Brothers Beach for snorkeling followed by beach time. After the morning session we came back to the ship for lunch & sailed to Yaqeta West.
We were able to meet the students of Yaqeta District School of Yaqeta Village. They were getting ready to go on holiday so we were able to tour their classrooms & visit with the children.
After the school visit there was more beach time right at their village along the ocean.
For dinner I received a special invitation to the Captain’s Table & everyone wore their Vulavula, “white attire.” It was so great to visit with the captain & his wife & the other guests at that table. The evening ended with entertainment & games.

Phase two of my trip in Fiji was doing an Expedition Luxury Cruise on the Ms Caledonian Sky with Captain Cook Cruises Fiji which just began sailing for the 1st time in Fiji a few weeks ago on this ship. This is a small expedition ship that only has 56 rooms. All disembarkations are done by zodiac. If you love snorkeling or scuba- this experience will not disappoint. I did a 4 night cruise to the Yasawa Islands.
Day one- right after embarking & eating lunch we were off on a mission to see as much marine life as possible. We went to Tivua a Private Island that had incredible snorkeling right from the beach or you could enjoy an afternoon on the beach.
I decided to enjoy & “test out” the spa & had an incredible massage when I got back to ship.
The evening ended with a welcome dinner & entertainment.
My disclaimer— I’ve never gone on a cruise solo. I’ve traveled a bunch for work by myself but to actually cruise by myself & not be meeting anyone on the ship was totally new for me especially because I don’t even eat out by myself or go to the movies solo.
We only had 46 guests on our ship- so everyone quickly became a family & I was trying my hardest to remember guests & employees names as fast as possible. It was liberating that I actually accomplished a solo cruise trip 😍. Missed my husband this trip because snorkeling is definitely his gig; but that just means I have another reason to come back 😉😘

We finished the night off with a grand finale with Intercontinental Fiji & Rosie Holidays.
We started with drinks at sunset up at the Concierge lounge. That few in incredible 😍
Then we made our way down to the conference room for a grand production with Rosie Holidays a locally owned DMC.
We had an intimate dinner & show & finished the night with a fire dance that was unreal. 🔥✨
Top notch staff & management at the property. This property would impress any size group ❤️🇫🇯💙

After lunch, we went to the conference room for some team building activities with Team Up Fiji that puts on “Team Building” activities throughout Fiji.
We had a few warmup activities including playing the “loli” as a group.
We then participated in an “Amazing Race” throughout the Intercontinental Fiji. It was so much fun. Everything was done through their iPads so we had to go to different places throughout the resort & complete their activities by video or pictures for points. In between the race we met as a group to earn bonus pojnts. We threw coconuts 🥥 🌴 into a basket, did some Fijian dancing 🇫🇯 & finished the race as bartenders & making our own creative drinks with what we had on hand. My mocktail came in 2nd place 🥈🧉🌺🙌🏼
We were dripping in sweat but it was so worth it.

The last 3 days I’ve been at Cruise World in Ft Lauderdale 🛳️🌎
Was in their Star Program so it’s been 2 weeks of connecting & virtual appointments the week prior.
Loved meeting with suppliers & fellow advisors in the industry, listening to motivational speakers & attending trainings from fellow colleagues.

The highlight was finally meeting Angela Hughes in person & being able to take her incredible class.

Thank you so much Travel Weekly's CruiseWorld STAR Program 2023 for two great weeks.

Walked away rejuvenated with fresh ideas.
Now to get home to my babies & hubby❤️.

Got home late last night from IMEX Las Vegas 2023. 4 days meeting with so many incredible people & brands for Incentive Group Travel & getting to catch up with familiar faces & friends in the industry.
Thank you Americana for hosting me.
Incentive travel for companies is back with a vengeance for 2024 & beyond. 🙌🏼
