I swear on my Butterbeer that you don’t have to be a Potterhead to feel completely immersed and in awe when visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands of Universal Orlando Resort. From the exciting attractions to the wanted posters that come to life to the spirit of Moaning Myrtle in the restrooms, you don’t have to be a fan to come, but I guarantee you will leave with a thirst to learn more about these wonderful stories. The scenery is straight from a movie set and is pure magic.

Vacations should be prescribed by our family physicians and covered by insurance, because MAAAAN they are good for the soul. There is nothing quite like a Disney vacation and being in that magical Disney bubble to make all of the adulting cares of the world melt away.

Here’s the truth, trips don’t always coincide with our celebrations. 🎉We travel when there’s wiggle room in the vacation schedule, when the budget allows and sometimes just when that perfect promotion drops. That doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate that milestone birthday, that new promotion, your wedding - get the button, order the cake, have your ✨Travel Agent✨ (me!) call in to have that celebration notated on your reservation whether your event was last week or last month. 😎 Let’s DO it!

Have you had a delayed celebration on a Disney trip? What were you celebrating and how far was the lag time? (No judgment here, we’ve still celebrated a birthday with a button and cake MONTHS later!)

I will always advise my guests to arrive to port ahead of a sailing at least one night in advance. With the current state of the airline industry and so many unknown factors, it is just too big of a gamble these days to try to roll into port (if flying) on your embarkation day. Even if that plan has always worked for you, it will work, until one day it just REALLY doesn’t.

In case you haven’t heard yet, guests staying at a Disney resort this year receive FREE water park access on their arrival day. Of course, especially these days, we hear the word “FREE”, and we get SUPER excited, but I’m curious as to how many folks will take advantage of this new perk.

🎮 🏆Has racing each other in Mario Kart been a favorite family past time for as long as long as the kiddos could hold the controllers? Having Universal bring to life our favorite Nintendo characters and experiences is going to level up all the crazy fun! I am most excited about the real life competitions to collect ⭐️ “coins” just like in our favorite games and of course riding Bowser’s Challenge.

Is this new Super Nintendo World of Epic Universe screaming out to your inner child? 🤩 What can’t you wait to do first?

Want to surprise your kiddos with a fun trip arrival basket? Along with shirts and fun things collected from big box stores, when you arrive at your resort, sneak into your resort’s arcade and purchase a refillable game card to slip into their trip treat bag. When you have some downtime and the kids want to hit the arcade while you sip something at the pool bar, they’ll be covered and super surprised! (Look at you, best parent ever chants are inevitable!)

Did you know that guests staying at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort can not only enjoy their fabulous on-site pool (complete with a lazy river) but they can also pool hop to other Universal resorts?

Did you know Cabana Bay has great standard rooms but also family suites AND rooms with views of Volcano Bay?

Did you know that Cabana Bay has a dedicated walking path for their guests that leads directly into Volcano Bay?

Last thing, did you know that Cabana Bay consistently prices out as one of the least expensive hotel options at Universal Orlando Resort?

There’s so much to love about this resort!

Truth bomb, sometimes, Disney resorts are so huge that you could get lost. Have you ever hopped off at the wrong bus stop, started walking and found that you had absolutely no idea where you were or how to get back to your room?

This is one of the many reasons why I love Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter. This is considered the smallest resort on Disney property which just makes it feel like home. It is cozy, serene, lush and the perfect balance to stimulating park days. (Even better, you can easily find your room to rest your feet at the end of the day!)

What is your preference: a giant resort with loads of amenities and space to roam, or a resort that’s easy to navigate and quaint?

Castaway Cay is the perfect private island experience! You can eat your face off at Cookie’s BBQ, snorkel, swing in a hammock, complete a 5k, float in crystal blue waters, ride bikes, rent a cabana, take a tram ride or take the Pelican Plunge!

You may be wondering, “Why on earth would I wait in line for a cookie?” 🤔 Well, the cookies at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs are not just another chip off the ol’ block. These bad boys are the WHOLE block! 😳 Weighing in at half a pound, the calories pretty much burn off as you eat them.

Let’s get real for a second—if you’ve been to a Disney park lately, you know those paper straws are... not magical. They’re soggy by the time you hit the second sip, and if you’re enjoying a Dole Whip float or milkshake, good luck.

But here’s the thing: Disney’s switch to paper straws is part of a larger effort to reduce single-use plastics and protect the environment. It’s a small, commendable step with a big impact, but it doesn’t make those paper straws any easier to love!

So, what’s the solution? Be prepared! Bring your own reusable straw (there are tons of collapsible and easy-to-clean options out there), or pick one up at the parks—many shops sell cute themed reusable straws if you want a magical upgrade. 🫢 Or you can just skip the straw altogether!

Growing up is so overrated and no one knew that better than Walt Disney. I think that is exactly why attractions like the Storybook Land Canal Boats strike such a chord with guests like me. I love the memories of playing with dolls, mini furniture and simpler times being reignited. Disneyland is such a special place that allows you to slow down, be present, use your imagination and feel the magic that Walt worked so hard to capture.

Taking a theme park or cruise vacation solo might sound a little unconventional but trust me—it’s an experience you’ll treasure! Imagine TOTAL FREEDOM to do exactly what you want, when you want, with no compromises.

Here’s my two cents on this topic:

🤹‍♀️ With no one else’s schedule to juggle, you can design a day that’s all about you! Stop to smell the roses, grab that 10am churro, pop into every shop at World Showcase, or go all out with rope drop to park close. The choice is yours! I am a huge park open to park close gal, and I know that isn't for everyone. So, when you are with others, you take into consideration that not everyone wants to be at a park for 14 hours.

👂🏻Hear this: traveling solo doesn’t mean traveling alone. Be mindful of your surroundings and stick to official tours or excursions—but don’t let fear hold you back. Exploring on your own can be incredibly empowering and rewarding.

🍽The idea of solo dining is probably the most intimidating but it’s a treat! Take time to savor your meal, people-watch, or enjoy a character meal – characters often spend more time with solo diners.

😎 Once you experience the joy of doing exactly what you alone want, you might just find yourself hooked on the magic of solo travel!

Disney has become my families escape from reality and into a world full of magic, wonder, excitement, and family bonding time.
