Radiator Springs Racers is pedal to the metal fun for racers of all ages! (Well, at least those 40 inches and taller) Imagineers NAILED everything about this attraction and this land, and I wish we could still somehow get more of it. Even if you find that you aren’t a super fan of the movies, this land is a champion for sure.

The Highway in the Sky-I feel like this idea should have totally taken off WAY more than it has! Walt was really on to something. Imagine taking a monorail to do your grocery shopping or to pick the kids up from school. We would all be happier commuters!

Even if you aren’t staying at the Disneyland Hotel or need to get to Downtown Disney, would you still ride it just for fun?

Have some little Harry Potter fans who aren’t quite ready to tackle Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey? Give Flight of the Hippogriff a shot. Located in Islands of Adventure in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Hogsmeade, you’ll work your way through Hagrid’s pumpkin patch and even catch a quick glimpse at our old pal, Buckbeak.

A few words of warning: riders must be at least 36 inches to ride, and riders under 48 inches need an adult rider. While adults may feel a little cramped in the ride vehicles, just know that the ride is short and sweet and included with the Express Pass.

So, the Disney Wish has the awesome Worlds of Marvel restaurant where Spider-Man has been known to swing by, as well as the superhero sized Marvel Day at Sea sailings on other ships. Universal Orlando Resort has The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man attraction. Meanwhile, Disney California Adventure Park inhabits ALL things Spidey! Stage show, souvenir shops, interactive attraction, spider bots and the famous crime fighting teen himself strolling the campus.

If you could spend a day with Spider-Man, where would you go to rub elbows with this cool web slinger?

Florida heat is a special kind of hot. During the summer months, many equate the Florida heat to what I’d guess living on the center of the sun would probably feel like. Many times, if you want to visit Walt Disney World, you’re bound to school schedules, so summer is your only option.

From the exciting Sail-A-Wave deck party, the fun water slides and kiddie splash zones to the around the clock “dive-in” movies on the big screen, the main pool deck on any Disney Cruise Line ship is THE place to be. What’s your take on Animal Kingdom evenings? Should this park have a nighttime show, or is its serene, early closure part of its unique charm?

On one hand, a nighttime spectacular with lights, music, and stories along the river could add a special finale to a day of adventure.

On the other, there’s something uniquely peaceful about Animal Kingdom winding down as the sun sets. The earlier closing time definitely respects the wildlife and honestly, gives families a more relaxed pace. When there is no option to burn the midnight oil, you tend to rest and relax at the resort more.

Pondering passports? Although a birth certificate might suffice for closed-loop cruises (those that begin and end at the same U.S. port), a passport allows for smoother processing at international ports and can be a lifesaver should you need to fly back to the U.S. from a foreign port in an emergency. Plus, some ports require passports if you want to disembark and explore.

Even if your current cruise plans don’t require a passport, having one means you’re always ready to go! Whether it’s another cruise, a visit to Disneyland Paris, or any international destination, a passport is your “key to the world”.

“The curse - it’s real!!” Well, not really, but this Universal Orlando Resort thrill ride is a fan favorite, and for good reason. Revenge of the Mummy opened in Universal Studios back in 2004 and had a pretty extensive refurb in 2022. During this heart-pounding adventure you survive fire, scarab beetles, speed and backwards thrills - oh yeah, and mummies! Fun fact, it has a max speed of 45 miles per hour, but it will feel like 445 at times! (Walt Disney World vets, it’s similar to Expedition Everest, but a little more intense with the visuals.)

Overheard at Disneyland: “Those canoes run on a track, right? People don’t actually have to paddle, do they?” The (wrong) answer provided was: “It’s probably a track.”

🛶 I assure you, the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes are NOT guided by a track, and you do have to paddle your way (along with some new friends) around the Rivers of America. Because of this, be sure anyone going on this adventure is up for the physical exertion and has no mobility issues. That said, this classic (and so very Walt Disney) attraction offers incredible views of Frontierland and Critter Country while providing a serene break from the theme park action. Maybe opt to explore Disneyland’s “wilderness” as early as you can on a summer day. There is no shade out there!

For East Coasters, the trek to Anaheim to visit Disneyland is costly and time consuming for what could be considered a “smaller” experience.

GASP! Some Walt Disney World vets may think a visit to the smaller Disneyland Resort seems a bit unnecessary. But those people would be SO VERY WRONG! Don’t let the size deter you; small is SO MUCH EASIER to navigate. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are only a football field length apart, so park hopping is quick and easy!

Plus, the connection to Walt Disney is something no other park will ever have. He LIVED on site while it was being built (the apartment is still there!) He walked Main Street, wandered Fantasyland, rode the waters of ‘its a small world’. THIS is the kind of Disney magic you just won’t find anywhere else.

It also has many unique, classic attractions, superior versions of WDW attractions, and entire lands you won’t find in Florida. And come on, you can get Mickey-shaped sourdough bread!

Pro Tip: Feeling a little squeezed by the crowds over in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter? Write yourself a new story over in Toon Lagoon. Even on the busiest of park days this is a great spot to grab some food, cool off by getting utterly drenched on a couple water rides and have a break from all the robed Muggles casting spells.

Why not go to infinity and beyond before your Disney Cruise Line sailing out of Port Canaveral? Kennedy Space Center is just about 15 minutes from the cruise port and can be an exciting day of learning and fun. (Learning so fun your kids won’t even realize they are getting smarter on vacation!)

If you’ve ever been fascinated by space travel or even just loved that infamous turn on Spaceship Earth, a visit to Kennedy Space Center is an easy and relatively inexpensive way to spend the day leading up to your exciting cruise adventure.
