Seeing all the posts about the anniversary of magic kingdom and Epcot today got me thinking. People ask “why are you going to Disney again?” Well there’s lots of reasons. I have three “homes”. The home in Kentucky I physically live in. A home in Heaven one day. And my home away from home, Walt Disney World. WDW is more than a theme park. It’s an experience. It’s a feeling. It’s about friends and family. If Walt hadnt sat on that bench watching his girls on a carousel and dreaming of a place that families could do those things together all those years ago, Disneyland and Walt Disney World wouldn’t exist. Because it exists I found my happy place. Because it exists I started doing 5k and the occasional 10k races. Because it exists I’ve made friends I never would’ve met in my life. If you are one of those, thank you for being my friend. Because it exists I have the job I have helping plan the magic for other families. WDW isn’t just a “theme park”. It’s a place that for a little while everyone is a kid again. It’s a place that you can leave your worries and troubles behind for a little while. It’s a place that will hit your emotions. You may have a tear in your eye when you walk down Main Street USA. Or while watching the fireworks. Or even more on the day you have to leave to go home. It’s a place that is filled with stories. Every ride. Every attraction. Every restaurant. It’s a place where Cast Members make the magic for guests. It’s a place where guests sometimes make the magic for the Cast Members. It’s my Happy place. It’s my Home. It’s Walt Disney World. Happy Birthday to my home. Magic Kingdom and Epcot at Walt Disney World Florida.
