ALERT! Those traveling over the Wailua Bridge after 8 pm to 6:30 am on June 3rd and possibly June 4th will need to plan a little more time. One side will still be open, but you might need more time.Mahalo!

Parallel beams that support the steel bridge deck of Wailua Plantation Bridge are severed across multiple panels because of extensive corrosion. Affected panels must be replaced by the end of this week for the safety of highway users.

Today we honor Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana'ole. Keali'i Maka'ainana - The Citizen Prince.

Prince Kūhiō was instrumental in establishing the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act (HHCA) of 1921, which set aside approximately 200,000 acres of land for Native Hawaiians. As a delegate to the U.S. Congress, he fought to provide land for Hawaiians to help restore their self-sufficiency and cultural connection to the land.
