Today we’re launching a weekly blog series, highlighting local restaurants that source locally for their ingredients, sharing their tales of the pandemic and their battle for resiliency.

Each week we encourage our readers and fans to support this restaurant as a movement to keep our small businesses who support our local food systems alive & well.

First up is Hukilau Lanai, which has been a mainstay on the east side for local food since 2002. Owners Ron & Krissi constantly pitch in to support community orgs, and even spent a stint during the pandemic helping Kunana Dairy deliver their CSAs.

Their list of over 20 local food providers is on their website, while they love their local fish specials and homemade pastas as a palette to be dawned with local seasonal vegetables.
