Lincoln City is such a great place and always improving! Can’t wait to see this inclusive playground take shape!!

Even on the vast Oregon coast, access to the great outdoors can be difficult when you don’t easily get around.

Now Lincoln City is looking to change that with the Schooner Creek Discovery Park, nearly 7 acres in the heart of town designed to be accessible and inclusive while offering an experience as fun and challenging as visitors want to make it.

“This is a community driven and community-built park, and the community told us they want this park to be welcoming to all,” said Jeanne Sprague, Lincoln City Parks and Recreation director.

4 years ago today we started this little project of by painting the beams of our new to-us A-frame and began our Covid lockdown. By the end of the month we had practically gutted the entire place 🙈 We ended up with an entirely new kitchen, bathroom, windows, siding, deck and so much more. Still happy with how it turned out and wouldn’t change a thing! It’s filled with hard work and good energy! We host over 100 groups a year and still have time to squeeze in a few trips for ourselves. This home started us on an exciting new adventure and we couldn’t be more grateful! ☺️

Fun!

In less than 24 hours this sky will be full of giant colorful kites, and this beach packed with captivated crowds. We are so excited for this year's Fall Kite Festival! 🪁

During the fest, we'll drop ten of these special kite-themed glass floats throughout the D River State Recreation Site 🔮
