"What is it?" Wednesday! - Revealed!

You may have guessed it... a Bufflehead! 🦆💙

These pint-sized ducks might be small in stature, but they're big on charm and uniqueness. 🎩✨ Buffleheads are known for their striking black and white plumage, and their tiny size makes them one of the smallest diving ducks in North America.

What sets these ducks apart is their incredible diving ability! 💦 Buffleheads can plunge underwater with remarkable agility, disappearing below the surface in the blink of an eye to hunt for aquatic invertebrates and small fish. 🐟🏊‍♀️

Fun facts about Buffleheads:

Join us for Lincoln City’s Fall Kite Festival 🪁 Coming next weekend, September 23-24!

We’ll have exciting kite demonstrations by experts, kite-making, and of course the colorful, giant kites floating above our beautiful beach.

All the action takes place at D River State Recreation Site.

Here's what we have planned:

SATURDAY 9/23

~ 10:00 am: Announcements and opening performance

~10:00 am - 2:00 pm: FREE Kite Making Workshop. Donations to benefit Family Promise of Lincoln County

~ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Performances by Featured Fliers

SUNDAY 9/24

11:00 am - 11:20 am: Kite Flier Memorial

12:30 pm - 1:30 pm: Mega Fly! Enjoy watching all fliers on the field together

1:30 pm - 4:00 pm: Performances by Featured Fliers

2:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Tours of the Big Kite Field

4:00 pm: Festival Closes

All day festivities include:

🪁 BIG show kites fill the Lincoln City festival sky with color!
