Mark your calendar for Spring Whale Watch Week on the Oregon Coast! From March 22–30, 2025, witness the incredible migration of gray whales as they surface and spout while traveling north toward Alaska.

During Spring Whale Watch Week, Oregon State Parks rangers, trained volunteers, and whale enthusiasts will be stationed at designated viewpoints along the coast, ready to help visitors spot whales and distinguish between species. They’ll share insights on whale behaviors, migration patterns, and fun facts about these marine mammals.

This is a perfect spring break adventure for families, nature lovers, and anyone fascinated by the ocean’s gentle giants! Three of the designated viewpoints are just a short drive south of Lincoln City.

Celebrating 25 years on the 25th!
 
This Saturday, January 25th - stop by the North Lincoln County Historical Museum to claim a commemorative glass coin celebrating a quarter century of Finders Keepers!
 
Check out the 25 Years of Finders Keepers exhibit on the museum’s second floor, then head down to the front desk where you can grab one of these special coins made by the glass artists behind the Finders Keepers program.
 
Coins will be available while supplies last - hurry in before they’re gone! Limit one coin per person. The museum is open from 11 am to 4 pm.

Cheers to 25 Years! 🍻

We teamed up with Beachcrest Brewing Company to celebrate 25 years of Lincoln City’s Finders Keepers program with a brew as special as our iconic glass floats. 🔮

The Finders Keepers IPA balances tropical fruit and citrus hop aromas with a smooth malt backbone, creating an approachable craft beer that pairs perfectly with a day of beach exploration.

Available on draft and in 16 oz. cans starting February 1, 2025 at Beachcrest Brewing Company in the Salishan Marketplace. 🍺

🐚 The first Beachcombing Explorience of the season is this Saturday! Join us for a guided exploration with an expert who will help you uncover coastal treasures like agates, fossils, shells, and minerals while sharing fascinating insights into our unique coastal geology.

Meet at 9 am on January 4, 2025 at the SW 33rd St Beach Access Point in Lincoln City. Don’t forget to bundle up with a warm rain jacket and bring a reusable bag or container for your finds.

🌊 Opening weekend drop is almost here! From January 3–5, 2025, one hundred of these beautiful aquamarine floats will be hidden along the seven miles of beach in Lincoln City. Each float was handcrafted by the talented artists at Glass Forge Studio in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Floats will be dropped along the seven miles of beach in Lincoln City, from Roads End in the north to Siletz Bay in the south, during daylight hours only. ☀️

This is the most floats that will be dropped in one weekend throughout the entire year! Happy hunting and cheers to a new year. 🎉

Join us on Wednesday, January 1st for a refreshing plunge into Siletz Bay in Lincoln City. Warm up afterward with hot chocolate, pastries, and a cozy bonfire provided by Lincoln City Parks and Recreation.

🎉 We can’t wait to celebrate 25 incredible years of Finders Keepers in 2025!

Since the turn of the millennium in 2000, hand-made glass floats have been hidden along the beaches of Lincoln City as part of this iconic scavenger hunt, inspired by the glass fishing floats commonly found here in the past. Over the years, it’s become a beloved tradition and a defining part of Lincoln City’s charm.

We’ll kick the year off during opening weekend, January 3–5, with a special drop of 100 glass floats—the best odds of the entire year to snag one!

From November 28 to December 1, we’re hiding 50 Thanksgiving-themed glass floats along the 7 miles of coastline in Lincoln City - from Roads End in the north to Siletz Bay in the south.

While hunting, keep your eyes on the area above the high tide line and below the beach embankment. During daylight hours only! Good luck✨

🐦 Ever wanted help spotting birds on the Oregon Coast? Join us for a Birdwatching Explorience with the Seven Capes Bird Alliance! 🌊 These free, guided tours are perfect for diving into coastal wildlife with local experts.

Our next Birdwatching Explorience takes place this Saturday, November 9 at 9:00 am in the Cascade Head Biosphere Region. Meet us at Knight Park, where we’ll begin our journey along the Salmon River, winding through woodlands, marshes, and riverbanks.

If you can’t make it this weekend, mark your calendar for the following Explorience on Friday, December 6 at 9:00 am at Siletz Bay and the Taft Waterfront. Here, we’ll explore winter resting grounds for thousands of waterfowl. Bald Eagles often make a grand appearance, and Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets are always present. Meet us at the dock beside Mo’s Restaurant in the Taft District of Lincoln City.

🤹‍♀️ Spring Break Special Drop is almost here! 🤹   From March 22 - April 19, 2025, find 200 of these playful glass floats dropped on the beach in Lincoln City, Oregon. 🏖️   This is a part of Lincoln City’s Finders Keepers program, a local tradition where hand-crafted glass floats are hidden on the beach for people to find and keep.  Here are some tips on how to find one:   🔹 There are seven miles of continuous beach in Lincoln City. Floats are hidden everywhere on this stretch, from Roads End in the north to Siletz Bay in the south, during daylight hours only. 🔹 Floats are hidden on the sand and near driftwood, not in the beach grass or vegetation.   🔹 Special themed drops like this one are in ADDITION to the regular floats that we drop on the beach almost every day of the year. Over 3,000 floats are dropped every year by float fairies on the beach in Lincoln City – averaging about 8 per day! Happy hunting 🎠
