🤩Weekly-Wrap-Up🤩: Happy Friday, everyone! It's been another busy week wrapping up flights from last week. However, Europe travel is still going strong! A lot of interest in the UK and Ireland, but there was also interest in Austria and Switzerland. If you want to go to multiple European countries and don't know where to start, a tour is a great way to do that! That way, everything is planned out in advanced and you will have a knowledgeable guide with you the entire journey. On another note... 📰What's new in the travel world📰: A little bit of sad news that happened last week. An Army helicopter and an American Airlines passenger plane collided near Ronald Regan Washington National Airport. It was the deadliest air crash to happen in the US in two decades. The National Transportation Safety Board is leading an investigation into how it happened. Our hearts and thoughts go out to all the families affected. In other news, when traveling domestically, starting May 7th, you will be required to have a Real ID driver's license. The Real ID ensures that all US driver's licenses meet the same security standards. To tell if you have a Real ID, there is a star in the top portion of the card. Being a travel agent takes hard work and dedication. Unfortunately, we are not always able to travel to every destination (we wish we could!). So how do travel agents know so much about so many different locations? Continued education is very important to stay up to date. One of the best ways for us to get to know different locations are through webinars. Most of our suppliers have certificates we must earn to access travel agent specific programs. They provide webinars and online classes for us to understand their products and locations they service. These are great tools for us to keep up to date.

🤩Weekly-Wrap-Up🤩: It's finally Friday! I can't believe how busy this week has been. For the past couple of January's we've been booking flight from all around the country to Houston for a training in February. This is the week they decided to start booking! We've had over 40 coaches and trainees book with us within the last three days. And we are still waiting to hear from more! We've had time in between to book several packages and tours as well. And of course many, many quotes. This was also the week that I had scheduled to start working on February's social media. So many things to do all at once. Hopefully, it doesn't slow down! ⏰Time to start thinking about your summer travels and Europe is definitely one of our options! But what should you do to prepare for your trip? 📃Well here is a comprehensive list of items to think about:

1️⃣ Pack light. Most flights to Europe include one suitcase per passenger and a carry-on, but expect hotel rooms to be small than what the USA has.
2️⃣ Good footwear is a must. Walking is the most common way of getting around and a lot of attractions are only accessible on foot.
3️⃣ Bring clothes you can be comfortable in all weather in.
4️⃣ Check where in Europe you will be traveling to and see what type of outlet they require. The UK will have a G type while Amsterdam has two types, C and F. If you are traveling to multiple countries, it might be wise to get a multi-plug adapter.
5️⃣ Make sure your credit cards are accepted to the country you are going. Not all countries accept the same cards. Also, check with your bank and credit card companies what fees they have when converting money. Don't forget to notify them of travel as well.
6️⃣Convert some money into foreign currency before you go as an emergency fund. You wouldn't want to get stuck without a way to pay.
7️⃣ Make sure your health insurance will cover costs outside of USA/ Purchase travel insurance.
8️⃣Learn a little bit about the culture before you go. For example, each country tips differently.
9️⃣ Make sure your passport is at least six months valid after the end of your travel. Some countries are a little more strict than others.
🔟 Double check if the country you are traveling to requires a ETA. As of this year, the UK is requiring one.

📰What's new in the travel world📰: Just a couple of things this week! Here's what's been happening - 🛳Cruise travel is in demand. There will approximately 19 million Americans expected to travel this year. A 4.5% increase from last year. According to AAA, 72% of US cruise passengers are heading to the Caribbean. 🏦The Senate has confirmed Kirsti Noem as the Homeland Secretary. The US Travel Association issued a statement welcoming Noem's confirmation and hopes this is an "opportunity to improve both travel security and efficiency." 🤩Weekly-Wrap-Up🤩: Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week like we did. Cruises, cruises, cruise! Alaska seems to be the way to go this year if you are looking for a cruise or even just land travel. It is booking up quickly so now is the time to act! Even if you don't want to go that route, cruising to the Caribbean is also a great option or even a Hawaii cruise to several of the different islands. And as always, Europe is at the top of people's interest. If you are planning to go to the UK however, they are planning to increase the ETA fee from $12.51 to $19.65. Winter is a great time to vacation to a warmer destination. But sometimes you are left waiting in the airport wondering: why do planes have to de-ice? Well, I'm here to answer your questions! De-icing is essential and required for the plane to take off. Airplane wings are designed as a specific shape. Snow and ice can change that shape which can decrease the effectiveness of the wings lift. So if it's only a little frosty out, the process is only 1 step, but if its really wintery, it takes a 2 step process. This can take from 10-30 minutes depending on the weather. So even it feels like ages of waiting, de-icing is for everyone's safety!
