This photo in Vegas was taken right before the Tropicana implosion on Oct 9th. The property stood for nearly 70 years on the Strip. Bringing it down took less than 30 seconds. Vegas does everything in style!

Chef Giada De Laurentiis has her restaurant, GIADA inside The Cromwell in Vegas. The menu consists of Italian cuisine with refreshing, Californian influences. This was my choice and my, my, my...highly recommend!

From an old family friend….

The attached shared post is from a neighbor but our daughter and her family live in the Asheville area too. They were affected by the hurricanes while living in Wilmington and now in Asheville—this time around they’re safe and the house is mostly dry. For the lack of other life essentials they’ll join us in Georgia soon. But our friends and many in Asheville and surrounding areas are and will continue to be in need. Power is slowly returning but they have no useable/safe water(it’s speculated they will lose water supply altogether soon and that this will be the case for weeks). There’s little gas, some are already without food, and the message from the city today said that they should expect the sewers to begin backing up. Their cell service was nonexistent for days but is still unreliable. Major streets and highways aren’t useable. So many families and businesses have been devastated. This is “Asheville’s Katrina”. Prayers, donations, and help are needed now and in the coming many months.
