Bird watchers can find many species of interest at Lake Lou Yaeger, from waterfowl to American bald eagles, and owls to wild turkey.
Today, a visitor to Lake Lou Yaeger captured this video of American white pelicans. Pelicans migrate through most of Illinois, on their way at this time of year to their wintering grounds along the Gulf of Mexico.
According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the pelicans will be here until early November. They will stop here again in late February or early March while returning to the Dakotas and Canada.
If your at the State Fair, make sure you stop by and get your Litchfield souvenirs and information about what we have to offer!
