Franconia Ridge was voted one of the top 10 alpine ridges in the country by Outside Magazine once upon a time.
•
While less technically challenging with an emphasis on physical and environmental challenges, this ridge line hike is a great start for breaking into bigger days and more technical terrain in the mountains.🏔️
•
With similar weather to its neighboring mountain range, Mt. Washington and the Presidential Range and spreading across the Western White Mountains; the 5,000 foot high ridge line stretching nearly a mile and a half will attract some of the gnarliest weather in the region as well.🏔️
•
You will want to bring the essentials and know where to go should the weather roll in. Having a guide with you can ensure a degree of security should anything come up for you on your adventure into the alpine zone.🏔️

What’s happening over in Vermont is just another one of the devastating examples of mother natures power and force becoming more erratic.
•
I wasn’t able to get over to Montpelier with all of the road closures. But it was pretty amazing to see all the people out and about helping their neighbors cleanup. Vermont is one of the best communities.
•
Let’s hope the rebuild goes as smoothly as possible. Stay safe with all the incoming rain. And if you’re able to donate to any causes or volunteer your time please head to the link in our bio to sign up and/or donate for volunteer efforts for the state of Vermont and the river communities affected. There is also a volunteer hub set up outside of Shaw’s in Montpelier to help direct you.

❗️❗️since being home for 36 hours it’s already noticeably busier - if you’re visiting the Lupines around here - stick to durable surfaces and already established footpaths. It’s not worth your photo to trample over perfectly great sprouting patches of flowers. The reality is hundreds of people each day are wandering through here - so do your part by enjoying them and staying on the paths! 💐

Happy Earth Week! 🌎 Earth Day shouldn’t be celebrated just for one day. At NMR it is all week long and everyday. 🏔🌲

The temperatures are ideal for climbing and hiking! The air is crisp in the wind and the sun is hot. We are planning on getting outside as much as possible this week. ☀️

Do some spring yard work or help out with cleaning your local community. Or go for a hike with a trash bag and pick up all the trash along your favorite trails. Just outside and enjoy this beautiful Earth!
