Grateful no one was injured.

There has been a fire in Indianola that has damaged the balloon museum. Fire trucks are on the scene and the damage seems to be contained with only some, as yet to be determined, damage to the interior. Initial word seems to be that it may have started in the ceiling, but no reasons have yet been determined. No one was in the building at the time, but were just arriving for the day. There were no injuries.

Happy Montgolfier Day! On this day in 1783 the first humans took to the air and aviation was born.

240 years later we are still enjoying the skies in montgolfières or, in English, hot air balloons!

We celebrate the Montgolfier brothers and our first pilots, Jean-François Pilatre de Rozier and François Laurent.
