Elk hunting in Cherokee NC. Travel with Lisa and me from Gatlinburg, Tn over to Cherokee, NC to do some elk viewing. We are leaving a little late in the day but should still be able to see some in the wild. Elk once lived in the southern Appalachian Mountains and elsewhere in the eastern United States. They were eliminated from the region by over-hunting and loss of habitat. The last elk in North Carolina was believed to have been killed in the late 1700s. By 1900, the population of elk in North America dropped to the point that hunting groups and other conservation organizations became concerned the species was headed for extinction. The elk were re-introduced into the Park in 2001 and 2002. For the first few years, elk watching meant driving deep into the Cataloochee area of the park, about 1.5 hours from Bryson City. But over the past decade, the herd has grown and spread into other parts of the park. Now just a few miles and an hour and you see elk in abundance.

While in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Lisa and I camped in the Little River RV Resort located in Townsend, TN. Townsend is at the Cades Cove entrance to the National Park. Townsend is a city in Blount County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The city was chartered in 1921 by folks who were involved with the Little River Railroad and Lumber Company. The population was 244 at the 2000 census and 448 at the 2010 census. Townsend lies on the side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park known as “the Peaceful Side of the Smokies,” renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life as well as preservation of Southern Appalachian culture. You will love the area along with other area cities. Just a few miles away lies Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN. From tubing, hiking, biking, and many other attractions your experience will be wonderful.

Come take a .50 ₡ road trip with MY RV GROUP to the Tremont area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Tremont area is a beautiful place to drive, hike, fish, swim, and simply enjoy the outstanding natural scenery. There are many destinations and points of interest within the area, each one enough to make memories to take away from your visit. The drive into the area is a destination itself. Tremont is situated along the Middle Prong of Little River a few miles south of Townsend, Tennessee. If my lenses could only capture it as we see it. Enjoy the ride along. I’ll do the driving.

I don't think I mentioned it on here, but I damaged the coach. Yes, I caused harm to my baby.
In owning three Class A coaches now, one would think I learned on the first new coach in 2017 is never be in a pinch (small place) without using a "spotter" I backed the new coach on day one into a set of "chest of drawers" . I demolished the drawers and had minor scratches on the coach. Made me sick. Since then we use radios to communicate in small tight maneuvers and have had no more issues....one would think "problem solved"????
We have another newer coach now that we purchased a couple of years ago and I done it again.
When leaving our Lake House a week or so ago, I decided that I could get the coach out of the tight space without a spotter. In other words The big T spoke again "YOU GOT THIS" The big T. (TESTOSTERONE). In my attempt to stay off the grass, I tore down one section of split rail fence, and damaged two off door side undercarriage doors.
In all, male ego, caused from testosterone will run about 6k in damage.
My advise gentlemen THINK, before you try and thread a needle with your coach at night and backwards.

Take the ride on the Lake Guntersville Bicycle Highway. Those are my words for it. Lake Guntersville is located at the southernmost point of the Tennessee River and is surrounded by 69,000 acres of water. Lake Guntersville offers excellent biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, and all water sports (not to mention the most beautiful mountain-lake sunsets you will find anywhere!). Join My RV Group on this bike ride along the lake.

We are Brad & Lisa Cox. We want to welcome you to our site. Lisa and I are originally from north Alabama. We have seven children between us. They are all adults and out of the nest. We started RVing in 2012 with a 2009 Tiffin Alegro Bus, we had remodeled. Our travels were limited until 2017, so the older bus met all of our travel needs. Our goal has been to eventually go fulltime. In 2017 we updated the Tiffin with a 2017 Thor Challenger 37YT. Our travel and adventures were increasing but we still thought we had a few years to go before going fulltime.

Lisa being a nurse manager at the time, I was working for a distribution company and traveled alot. We knew changes had to be made to follow the dream of full-time travel but be able to make a living while we traveled. We both were too young to retire.

Opportunity arose in 2019 that allowed me to quit the job I had and start my own company. Lisa , a nurse, had already been looking at the travel nurse opportunities and having discussions with travel nurse companies about the industry, requirements, etc.

We were ready, things were falling into place, so we sold/gave away everything, the house, land, shop, excess vehicles, furniture, etc. We oficially went fulltime in our 2017 Thor in August 2019. We moved to an RV resort at Lake Guntersville, Al. Lisa commuted back and forth to her job, as I traveled so nothing changed for me.

As for a new residence, we chose Texas to be home. We joined the Escapees club, enrolled in the mail forwarding service. We moved registrations, voting, and obtained a Tx. driver license. We were officially legal Texans.

In Septmeber 2019 I turned in my 30 day notice for my new business venture. It would be operating October 1, 2019. Lisa turned in her 60 day notice the first part of November. The wheels were turning and it finally had grip. In the planning stage Lisa had obtained her Texas nursing license for we thought we wanted her first assignment there.

October 1st 2019, I officially opened my manufacturers rep firm "Warning Solutions", I had one client Whelen Engineering and it's Outdoor Warning and Industrial Products Division. (Note:) I have been in this industry along with communications for 27+ years. The only thing new was owning the company.

January 1st 2020, Lisa and I set out on our first journey across America. We didn't know where we were going and didn't care. We ended up in Arizona for three weeks before Lisa got her first assignment as a travel nurse in Grandbury, Tx. for a 13 week contract.

Reality finally set in, we both had "went through the change". The rest will be history. We are loving our new life and we have more freedom than we could every expect.

After a few months full time in the 2017 Thor we decided for fulltime use, comfort and just quality of life, we needed to up-grade the coach to a larger, higher end unit. We purchased our current 2018 Entegra Aspire in March of 2020. (Well I decided and had to convenience Lisa.) We traveled to Longmont, Co. to take possession. We love it.

Just prior to this, I had convinced her to get a new toad. 2019 Jeep Wrangler. I was on a role so the new coach was a given.

Arches National Park lies north of Moab in the state of Utah. Bordered by the Colorado River in the southeast, it’s known as the site of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, such as the massive, red-hued Delicate Arch in the east. A thin Landscape Arch stands in Devils Garden to the north. Other geological formations include a Balanced Rock.

My RV Group visits Moab. Perched on the Colorado River and framed by majestic, 2,000-foot red cliffs, the Redcliffs Lodge, and its unmatched natural beauty of southeastern Utah was an excellent stop on our visit to Moab.
We were told about the lodge at the RV Resort we were staying on our tour. What we were told about was the Breakfast Bar and the Western Museum located at the lodge. Once we arrived and saw the lodge we knew we had to video it. The rustic look and location along the Colorado River was a perfect setting. It looked like it was taken from a picture.
