Cabin in the Country Located in a country setting in the Shields River Valley of Montana Perfect for a writer's retreat, family getaway, or use as a home base to explore Montana.

With spectacular views of three mountain ranges in the Shields River Valley, the cabin is a perfect place to get away from it all. It's about a 20 mile drive to local skiing at Bridger Bowl, and only two miles to the small town of Clyde Park which has a country market, 2 bars, post office, hardware store, and gas station. Close to excellent fishing in the Shields or Yellowstone Rivers, and about a

n hour drive to Yellowstone National Park. The larger town of Livingston which has many art galleries, entertainment, fine dining, and everything else you might need is 18 miles away. We are also about an hour drive to the closest airport and 2 hours to Billings. Conveniently located off Hwy 89 on the route between Yellowstone and Glacier Parks, the cabin is in the heart of ranch country on a gravel road, perfect for those morning walks. At night you might hear owls hooting, elk bugling and coyotes yapping, while you look up at the star filled sky! The cabin is newly decorated with country charm throughout. One bedroom has a queen bed, and the other is a futon couch that folds to a bed. In the living area there is a single hideabed chair suitable for a smaller person. We can also accommodate with a Graco Pack and Play for baby. If you're traveling with horses, we may be able to accommodate them also, as the cabin is located on our 2.5 acre property. There are only 2 neighbors nearby, which is ourselves and one other house.

Woke up this morning to a moose crossing the pasture next door. Missed the photo opp though, tried through the window and a bit too blurry. Oh well, watched it jump over 4 fences to get down to the river. Will be watching for its return trip.

We've had wonderful guests all summer. From the latest visitors from Scotland that just arrived: "Arrived safely and settled into the cottage. It is quite splendid and exceeds our wildest dreams. Had a nice welcome too from the mare and gelding." Comments like this sure make our day :)
