Some fun spring activities coming soon in Hockings Hills for April! Grab the kiddos and get out and explore!
Looking for something to do with your kids while you are in the area...What is coming up for the Hocking Hills State Park for the rest of April……
Sat, April 16, 1-2pm, Who laid it? Look for different bird eggs and see if you can match them to the bird that laid it, or even the nest it came from. Meet behind the Old Man’s Cave Visitor Center
Sat, April 16, 10-11am, Kids Fishing, join our naturalist for an intro to fishing program at rose lake. All gear provided.
Sun, April 17, 1-2pm, Rainbow Scavenger Hunt, using different colored paint swatches see if you can find all the colors of the rainbow in nature. Meet at the start of the Ash Cave trail.
Fri, April 22, 1-2pm Earth Day! Help us give back to nature by making a “seed bomb” to plant
wildflowers for pollinators and birds. Using clay and dirt we will make a seed bomb that you can smash in your own yard to spread seeds. Meet at the pollinator garden located next
to the Old Man’s Cave Visitor Center. This will be a messy activity.
Fri, April 22, 8:30-9:30pm, Meteor shower, Join the naturalist at the John Glen observatory too watch the Lyrid meteor shower.
Fri, April 29, 12-1pm, Raptor program, come Join our naturalist at the naturalist cabin behind the visitor center at Old Man’s Cave to see some of Ohio’s raptors up close.
Sat, April 30, 1-2pm, Hummingbird Talk. Join the naturalist at the pollinator garden located next to the Visitor Center for a talk about hummingbirds and what is best to feed them. Hint it’s not the typical store-bought stuff.
Sat, April 30, 10-11am, Archery Join our naturalist for an intro to archery beside the campground swimming pool. This event is for campers only.
