We had some technology issues which kept us off line for the last week or so. We spent a day in Rothenburg and Berlin then we took a night train to Denmark. We slept in a 'couchette' basically a bed on the train and it was awesome. We spent 2 days biking around Copenhagen, a day in Oslo, spent one day at the Fjords in Norway...yes I was singing 'Let It Go' on our boat ride and I wore my hair in braids. Lol. We then spent one day in Bergen on the West coast of Norway and the last two days in Stockholm.

As we left Munchen (Munich) this morning, we took pics of the area while holding a copy of my grandfathers picture that was taken back during WWII, showing him dressed up in his army uniform. He served as an army medic in mostly France and Germany, and one of his last cities was Munich. It was very fitting with today being the anniversary of D-Day. After spending this past week in Germany and learning more about WWII, Hi**er, N***s, Dachau and the other concentration camps from the eyes of the citizens from the country that was liberated was really neat.

Dachau was a very moving experience for me. It was one of the first concentration camp to exist and stay in use for the duration of 12 years from 1933-1945. The taunting phrase at the entrance of the cast iron gate: 'ARBEIT MACHT FREI' sent shivers down my spine. It means "Work makes you free." The other phrase that will never leave me is 'NEVER AGAIN.'

This morning began early with what has to be food poisoning. I couldn't help, but laugh because I am the sober one in the hostel throwing up. I was feeling better until the last 20 mins on the way to Salzburg. It hit me so hard and so fast I couldn't make it to the WC. Thankfully Wes had a plastic container right on top and most of it made it safely inside because my cheeks (face cheeks, lol) could only hold so much. I think I could have taken on a chipmunk today. We will have to wash off the little bit on our bags later. I told him we will laugh at this later and he agreed to take a pic with the container if I "chucked" it after. I spent the first 5 hours being a "potty pooper," but I'm starting to feel much better! On to more pics and sightseeing of Mozart and the Von Trapp family sights!!

Hopefully tomorrow brings better luck with our ATM cards. Today we couldn't find an ATM that would accept them. We finally found one, but we can only take out 200 Euros and our hostels require cash payments.... We may have to discover a new talent and become street performers.

We ate dinner at the Hofbrauhaus, the "beer house" in Munich. If my German is right "Vir trinken Bier nicht." (We don't drink beer) so we drank tap water. Mineral water or "gas" or "bubble" water takes some getting use to:)

We have spent 3 fun filled days Czeching out Praha and Cesky Krumlov. Our friends showed us all over the area. We tried the traditional Czech dumplings, sauce and meat and the "stinky cheese." Pics to come shortly. We are heading to Munich in the morning.
