Prague - The two-day event dedicated to the promotion of tourism in Sardinia, organized by the Czech tour operator Sardegna Travel di Martina and Antonio Costantino, ended today in Prague with a press conference. Twenty-two Sardinian operators participated yesterday at the headquarters of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry in B2B sessions with representatives of the sector from Belgium, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia. The central themes: sustainable, multi-thematic and new seasonal travel, with a focus on the longevity of the island as a distinctive element. Particular attention was paid to the need to offer international users alternative proposals to mass tourism, through themed trips linked to wellness, sport, culture, food and wine and popular traditions. The initiative, now in its third edition, was organized under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Prague, with the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Association of Travel Agencies of the Czech Republic. Guests included the Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Mauro Marsili, the President of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry Danilo Manghi, the Commercial Director of Cagliari Airport, Davide Crognaletti, the director Pietro Mereu and Roberto Sau representing Unioncamere Sardegna. Meanwhile, connections between the Czech Republic and Sardinia are improving: from 17 April to 19 October, Smartwings will operate five direct flights per week between Prague and Cagliari.
