Shellfish managers with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife today announced 42 tentative days of razor clam digs at four coastal beaches from Oct. 3 through Dec. 31.
“The 2024-25 recreational razor clam season will see similar digging opportunity to last season as long as marine toxin levels remain below closure levels,” said Bryce Blumenthal, a WDFW coastal shellfish biologist. “Razor clam populations on southern coastal beaches continue to be strong and healthy enough for abundant fall digging with harvestable low tides this season falling on Thanksgiving weekend, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day (not yet announced, 2025 dates will be released as the season progresses).”
The first round of tentative digs will occur on Oct. 3-7. All beach openings are dependent on final approval of marine toxin testing, which usually occurs about a week or less prior to the start of each digging series. We’ve made the tough decision to sell Honey BE Beach House. Over the past 5 years we have hosted hundreds of happy guests who have been able to make amazing memories with their friends and families. I’m truly grateful we have been able to share our home! Our family has so many treasured memories at the Beach House. Our family is on to other adventures at this stage of life but Honey BE Beach House will always have a special place in our hearts. (We will continue to operate BE by the Sea.)

One of our favorite things to do on the coast is to visit Beard’s Hollow. The tide pools are always an up close biology lesson! Our guests always get a guide of how to get there and the best, and safest way, to drive on the beach. We still have some summer dates open so make sure you snag them!

One of our favorite places to visit when we’re in Long Beach is Cape Disappointment. Trails, hikes, lighthouses, beaches, old military structures, the interpretive center…the list goes on! We’ve been visiting for years and years and still discover new places to explore. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is definitely a favorite. Beautiful views and lots of fascinating information on the history of the area.

The best thing about our kitchens at BE by the Sea and Honey BE Beach House is that, not only are they fully stocked with all the cookware and kitchen tools you could need, but they have lots of extras! A waffle maker, instapot/air fryer, hand mixer to name a few!
Our coffee bars are stocked with our custom tea blend, whole bean coffee, flavored creams, sugar, hot cocoa, and everything you need to make the perfect cup of coffee or tea.
We’re ready to be your home base for all your coastal adventures!

My love of the Long Beach peninsula goes way back! My family first started visiting Long Beach over 30 years ago. The lighthouses, tide pools, kites, beach time and horseback rides are all part of my core memories. My grandparents had a place in Long Beach for many years and it was always a dream to have our own place there one day!
We truly love sharing our places with families coming to make their own amazing memories. It really is such a magical place and I love hearing about all the fun things our guests experience. Looking forward to another amazing year of hosting you in 2024! 🎉
