If you've been wondering... Lazy Lemon Cottage has only experienced winds in the 30 mph range and a lot of rain. Wind should be lowering a bit but many more buckets of rain to come. Thankful to be on higher ground! Calm down Ida!!!! Sending our thoughts and prayers to those in areas that have been hit hard.

After all the close calls this year, Lazy Lemon Cottage had a brawl with Zeta last night. Luckily not too much damage except for a bit of siding, a few roof shingles and the crepe myrtles got beat up. Many thanks to our amazing friends Patti & Stan that secured everything before the storm and Craig & Whitney that trecked their way through the mess to check on things this morning! We feel lucky for sure, hoping for power soon but sounds like it may be a while...

With all of the many issues going on including Sally, we are continuing our efforts to make our guests more comfortable and feel at home. Back in May we had a new HVAC installed upstairs, as of last month we now have a new system downstairs for better comfort and circulation. We also increased the air circulation upstairs for the dreadfully hot and humid days in the summer months. The ice maker is working hard to keep up with the needs of our guests. We have trimmed back the grass from the driveway to increase the parking area again, and we have added a string of LED lights around the back deck which created a great sitting area in the backyard in the evening. The new foot wash station seems to be a big help as well. Some of the ways we strive to better everyone's stay. More to come in the future.

So far it appears that Lazy Lemon Cottage has been spared from disaster again! Sadly hurricane Sally is going to hit somewhere along the coast and affect another community. For us I'm sure there will be some flooding and inconveniences but not near as much as it was sounding yesterday. Were high and dry and a lot windy.

We got in the first opening week to the Mississippi aquarium in gulfport! Dolphins arrival was delayed because of the storms, but was an awesome experience. Can't wait until we can visit again!!! Well worth a visit

We're starting an album of cool finds on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I don't know all of the history here but this is one amazing carving on a tree taken out by Katrina. On the beach in Waveland, MS.
