Download & play around with the apps before your trip so you’re comfortable once it’s game time! Know how to get your passes, which stop is closest, the different routes, and where to find the on-demand feature for mid-day rides.

🚨📣 Have you heard the news yet?! WDW is dropping the 2 PM park hopping restriction starting on January 9, 2024! 🙌🏻

This is such a big deal for making the most out of your park hopping tickets. Was it possible to hit more than 1 park after 2 PM? Yes, especially w/Genie+. Was it like a mad dash challenge? Yes! We usually end up with a gap in the early afternoon.

Now there’s so much flexibility! Wake up w/the animals on Safari at Animal Kingdom, jump over to Hollywood Studios to visit Batuu and Slinky Dog, head back and take a rest at your resort before noon. Make your way to Magic Kingdom for lunch and Big Thunder, and finally end at Epcot making your way around World Showcase for dinner. 💕🤩 Sounds like a perfect day!

🏰☕️ My controversial coffee thoughts! I think it’s HARD to find a solid coffee in Walt Disney World. I’m likely biased coming from the PNW home state of Starbucks w/local organic coffee available on each corner. But I’ve yet to find a cup of coffee at WDW that blows me away with taste and strength. Below are my thoughts and suggestions.

I’m not a fan of sugary sweet drinks, and pretty much stick to black drip coffee on a daily basis (no calories and I can always find a cup). Now I will say that WDW knows how to make a HOT cup of drip coffee, but not as strong as we’re used to. (& by HOT I mean surface of the sun, triple cupped, it needs a few hours to cool off hot.) 🔥☀️☕️

Joffrey’s coffee is what you’ll find in your resort hotels and scattered throughout the parks. My fave here is the Shakin’ Jamaican cold brew w/vanilla & almond milk. I also am not a fan of flavored coffees, but w/the few add-ons, the flavor settles down. This is about the strongest coffee I’ve encountered there.

There’s also a Starbucks in every park. The lines can be crazy, but they do their best to move fast and keep up. I always say if there’s no line, it’s coffee time! But their drinks are not quite as STRONG as their counterparts out here. 🤷🏼‍♀️

One of my most magical moments at WDW happened just as we were leaving Hollywood Studios in Aug 2022. After spotting her, freezing in disbelief & my brain completely shutting off, I somehow sprinted across the store and willed myself to say words to a person who has had such an influence in making our family WDW trips amazing by following along w/her content. Molly from was so gracious & kind to pose for a quick photo! I HIGHLY recommend checking out their YouTube content for all things Disney coast-to-coast, the most straightforward Genie+ guides & ride strategies, and so much more! It’s a great way to get prepared for your trips if you’re a first time Disney traveler, and all the seasoned vets can learn so much more too!

We love the Disney popcorn! 🍿 A great inexpensive snack that is a crowd pleaser! @ WDW - Get the popcorn bucket Day 1 & you’ll be able to refill it for $2.50 each time for the rest of your stay! Easy to clip to your backpack for on the go. @ Disneyland - skip the bucket, you don’t get any refill discounts. We go for less days, so just factor in the cost of a small popcorn each time here. 🍿

Something I discovered early on when flying with the kids✈️: A quick phone call to your fave airline’s mileage plan and you can sign your kids up for their own too. You can get the maximum miles available for your family! We try to stick with Alaska Airlines since they have great direct flight options from PDX, and both of my boys have their own mileage plan (they’ll be able to get their own accounts to manage their trips after they turn 13, but right now they accrue miles and are tucked under my account as the parent). Every time we fly we all get mileage awards and can transfer between us so we can use for future flights! Happy Holidays! All the Festival of Trees planning has us thinking about holiday fun! So…The boys and I are escaping for a Christmas WDW trip!!!

We’ve been to Disneyland & the Merriest Nights event there a few years ago, so I’m excited to give some comparisons coast vs coast!

Here’s our quick itinerary:
Thursday night - Red Eye flight direct to MCO
Friday - Animal Kingdom
Saturday - Hollywood Studios & Epcot (to see the newest Moana attraction)
Sunday - Magic Kingdom & Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 🎄
Monday - early flight home!

When we only go for a few days, I try to stay on West Coast time and just eat at off times there, close down the parks late, and sleep in as we can (but we do try to take advantage of the low AM crowds!)

Let’s talk about one of my fave resorts @ WDW - Wilderness Lodge! It’s breathtaking scenery reminds me so much of our PNW landscape. It’s a short ferry boat ride from its own dock to Magic Kingdom, has some of the best restaurants, character dining, & and quick service options on-site, a great outdoor patio bar & grill, and since it’s deluxe you can get extra evening hours at the parks.

My kids love the main pool & water slide too! Did you know WDW property hotels all have life jackets for little ones AND many lifeguards on duty? I hate swimming other than to save a life, so it gives me so much peace of mind that my kids are safe and having fun. There’s even a splash park for the little ones too!

Fun fact - Metal coffee mugs keep my coffee too hot 😂. These ceramic ones from the Starbucks in each of the parks are my fave + a reminder on a normal workday of all the fun we had when we were there. This one is my fave because of the memories that come with it. 💕✨

Why do we prefer flying across the country to Florida vs straight down to California? Florida is cheaper!! We didn’t believe it at first, but I can make it win out almost every time. You get to stay on-site inside the bubble, get early park entry ahead of the genera crowds, and also not have to worry about driving, walking, or parking to get anywhere I want to go.

Are you prepared? Consider this your friendly reminder to check your passport’s expiration date today! ✈️ 🛳️ Save this for reference! With cruises & destination weddings on the horizon, I wanted to be prepared. 🛳️🏝️ Many countries require at least 3 to 6 months of validity left on your passport, or they’ll deny entry! They don’t want you to get stuck there. I recently renewed mine and it was so easy! Here’s how I did it. 1️⃣ Check the U.S. Dept of State’s website for detailed instructions and if you qualify to renew by mail. If you do, move to Step 2. 2️⃣ Fill out form DS-82, print single sided, sign & date. 3️⃣ Get a new passport photo that meets the requirements. (We have good luck with Walgreens!) 4️⃣ Use the U.S. Dept of State fees calculator and write a check (remember this ancient method of payment? Yes, it still exists & it’s good practice!) 5️⃣ Mail the completed DS-82 form with your new photo, check $, and current passport. I suggest a mailing method with a tracking #. Don’t put it off any longer! Yes, we rewear pj’s 1x on vacation to reduce how much we pack.
